ELECTRO/AMBIENT-POP. The 2011 breakthrough album by ZOLA JESUS, now available on gray-and-clear smoke vinyl. Nika Roza Danilova has gone from being an outsider experimental teenage noise-maker to a full fledged internationally celebrated electronic pop musician. Her voice is unmistakable; it cuts right to the core. Conatus is a huge leap forward in production, instrumentation and song structure. Colored vinyl includes a digital download card.

ELECTRO/AMBIENT-POP. For over a decade, Nika Roza Danilova has been recording music as ZOLA JESUS. Fittingly, the 11 electronics-driven songs on "okovi" share musical DNA with her early work on Sacred Bones. The music was written in pure catharsis, and as a result, the sonics are heavy, dark, and exploratory. With "okovi", ZOLA JESUS has crafted a profound meditation on loss and reconciliation that stands tall alongside the major works of its genre. The album peaks of tragedy with great wisdom and clarity. Its songs plumb dark depths, but they reflect light as well. Colored vinyl includes a digital download card.

ELECTRO/AMBIENT-POP. "okovi" was a return to dark form for Nika Roza Danilova, aka ZOLA JESUS. After all, the album that came before it was for all means and purposes her attempt at a pop album. "okovi: additions" collects 4 songs that missed inclusion on "okovi" and 4 remixes. The remixes come from capable hands: THE CROMATICS, WOLVES IN THE THRONE ROOM. However, the remixes are just bonuses on an album of bonuses. Limited colored vinyl includes a digital download card.

ELECTRO/AMBIENT-POP. IN 2010, it was winter break at university in Madison, Wisconsin. There was a snowstorm that covered the city with a still white haze. Not a single person in the streets. Nika Roza Danilova was sitting in her bed with a cheap keyboard and a computer, screaming into the void. These songs were a huge leap of faith back then. It was her 1st time singing without layers of distortion, echo, and reverb. Vinyl includes a digital download card.

ELECTRO/AMBIENT-POP. On the heels of her "conatus" tour, Nika Roza Danilova was offered an opportunity to perform at one of the most prestigious modern art museums in the world, NY's Guggenheim. Rather than doing her standard ZOLA JESUS electronic set she decided she wanted to work with a classical composer who could arrange her songs for a quartet. She recruited legendary industrial pioneer JG Thirlwell (FOETUS) to do the arrangements. With all framework exposed, the songs are given a new medium in which to evolve and bloom into their own tiny worlds. Removing the bulk of electronics from these songs gives them the space to breathe, thusly opening them up to exist beyond the restrictions of previously imposed genres. Vinyl includes a digital download card.

GARAGE-ROCK. Bored of cover bands and Toronto's stagnant bar scene, Chris Haight and John Hamilton formed ZOOM in 1976, inspired by such pre-punk touchstones as the VELVET UNDERGROUND, ROXY MUSIC, BOWIE and SPARKS. The band quickly set to gigging locally, but were soon caught up in the punk scene that exploded to life around them. An obscure but seminal 1976 release - arguably Toronto's 1st punk record - was their sole release before the band dissolved as Haight joined the VILETONES and Hamilton began drumming for the DIODES. Despite their duties in 2 of Canada's leading punk bands, however, the pair didn't want great songs to go undocumented, so they entered the studio to get this stuff on tape. Ugly Pop is very pleased to announce a 13-track superb pressing with full insert featuring new liner notes and unseen pictures, and this one won't be staying in print.

The debut single from 1980 "can't cheat karma" was released on Crass Records and 39 Years later still stands as one of the finest 7"s both politically and musically.
