GARAGE/POP-PUNK. YOUTHBITCH is a 4-piece based out of Portland. After their full-length they're back with 3 of their best songs yet, a heterosexuality-affirming hit on the a-side, backed with 2 of their trademark wired-up geeky garage/pop jams on the flip! Colored vinyl includes a digital download card.

PUNK-ROCK. Another burning Latino punk band lighting up M-80 dreams of freedom under the numbskulls of complacent and frightened masses. THE YOUTHS sound like youths everywhere. Sick of playing the games that prepare them for an adulthood of diminishing returns and wanting more than choices of self-destruction in a society that moves towards global destruction. THE YOUTHS aim at the space behind the mental and physical walls they need to break in front of them and deliver 5 high thrills/low frills numbers. For fans of PEDESTRIANS, GORILLA ANGREB, REGULATIONS, ADOLECENTS, etc..

POWER-POP-PUNK. The phantasmagorical world of Zac is a place where stellar pop melodies crash into a wall of sound and are rescued and restored to life with a sweet and strong backbeat of rythm & blues. The new Italian quartet (wit GUIDA member), land with their debut album - a wonderful modern power-pop blend that is indebted to the classic bands of the genre. ZAC stick close to the formula of the genre that they clearly love. Each listen peels back a layer of their sound, allowing nuances and subtleties to slowly emerge. The result is an album that power-pop purists will no doubt embrace and want to return to, and, hopefully, one that more will delve into.

SINGER/SONGWRITER. ZACH QUINN is best known as the frenetic singer and mad genius behind upstart punk band PEARS, but ZACH carves a new path with the release of his 1st solo album. For his latest endeavor, ZACH teamed up with Joey Cape (LAGWAGON, ME FIRST AND THE GIMME GIMMES) at "onec week record" and the 2 delved into the process of breathing life into ZACH QUINN's solo material.

SINGER/SONGWRITER. ZACHARY CALE has been self-releasing music under his own name for just shy of a decade. "duskland", his latest album and 1st for a label, is a work of craftsmanship full of mysticism and elegance; a collection of songs that look directly into the face of darkness yet drive beyond it. Taking cues from "oh mercy/time out of mind" era DYLAN and NICK CAVE's work with the BAD SEEDS, the record evokes a restless spirit, one that is informed by American myths and tall tales.

INDIE-ROCK. On his 3rd album, Brooklyn resident ZACHARY CALE casts a wide net, encompassing everything he's done previously whether solo or with band accompaniment. "noise of welcome" is a collection of songs that is distinctly modern in tone and substance. Moving from acoustic ballads and oddly tuned instrumentals to electrified country and pop the album projects a kind of psych/folk/rock hybrid, recalling the genre shifts of FLEETWOOD MAC's "tusk". Cale's signature finger-picking technique is reinforced with grander orchestral movements and a full backing band which helps to illuminate the brilliance of his craft. "noise of welcome" may prove to be ZACHARY CALE's greatest achievement as a singer/composer to date: a testament to his unique craftmanship and unconditional love of songs.

HARDCORE-PUNK. ZAGA ZAGA is new band from Haifa, Israel. As the title of the records says: it is their 2 song demo plus 4 new tracks. There are 6 songs of overpowering and hectic hardcore-punk. Imagine NOMEANSNO playing BLACK FLAG songs with a secret love for power-violence. Or reverse...or completely different. Anyway: it is fast, furios and fantastic! Colored vinyl includers a digital download card.

AMBIENT/POST-ROCK. Sprouting from the same mind that created THE BOOKS, ZAMMUTO marks a deep reinvention of the highly detailed, genre-defying spirit that made seminal albums. Given THE BOOKS' success as an experimental collage-pop project, founder Nick Zammuto could have comfortably extended that thread. Instead he has given us a record that is progressive and forward-looking, intense and driven, with hugely varied rhythms and melodies. The whispered, folksy vocals that became a trademark of THE BOOKS are for the most part shed in favor of an uncharacteristically confident, soaring delivery, often fueled by a wide array of vocal effects. The result is a man-machine sensitivity that ultimately enhances the songs' emotional intensity. Vinyl includes a digital download card.

METALCORE. The original 1996 recording of the debut full-length from ZAO. There exists a small pocket of hardcore kids who will insist that one of ZAO's earliest lineups was their best, despite later incarnations' popularity. "all else failed" is chunky, heavy, and pummeling and derivative of the metalcore style initiated by EARTH CRISIS and maintained at the time of this album's release by STRIFE and other hardcore groups. This record released by Steadfast earned ZAO the attention of Tooth & Nail Records, who signed them to a multi-album deal. Remastered and available for the 1st time on vinyl.

METALCORE. Pulled from the same sessions as 2016's "the well-intentioned virus", ZAO's 5-song MLP, "pyrrhic victory", is the 3rd release on the band's own Observed/Observer Recordings. Hardly a collection of b-sides, this short/no-frills attack was put together with as much care as an album. Vinyl includes a digital download card.

POST/METALCORE. In 1995, Zao released their 1st album, "all else failed", on Steadfast Records. Never a band to repeat a past success and always searching for new boundaries to push within their own music, "the well-intentioned virus" finds ZAO utilizing just as many familiar touchstones from their catalog as introducting new ones. Dense and clastrophobic one moment, beautiful and spacious the next. Vinyl comes in an eyecatching gatefold-cover and includes a digital download card.

METALCORE. Previously released in 2015 in a limited edition run of 600, this new pressing of 1000 is on black vinyl with all-new cover art by Matt Kerley (who did 2016's "the well-intentioned virus"). Contains an early mix of "xenophobe" and the track "fear itself", which is exclusive to this release. Vinyl includes a digital download and a guitar pick as a gimmick.

HARDCORE. "violent noiz life" is exponentially better than the demo, both in recording and sound quality. If you've never heard the band, it's comprised of members of some of the only interesting raw-punk bands to have existed in the U.S. in recent times. This 7" is GLOOM worship/crasher crust done right. One could say that ZATSUON crashes harder than most crasher crust bands, particularly in the way in which they don't just fall into the lazy trap of sounding like straight DISCHARGE-style d-beat. Combine that with noisy, yet discernible riffs and one of the most recognizable voices in the genre and we've got yet another instant, modern classic record from NYC.

HARDCORE/METAL. ZEALOT R.I.P. started years ago when life-long friends Jason Hamacher (FRODUS, BATTERY, COMBATWOUNDEDVETERAN) and Mike Schleibaum decided to collaborate and write music that's fast and heavy. It took a few years for them to settle into a sound that's somewhere between ENTOMBED and BORN AGAINST. The band was recently solidified with the additions of PIG DESTOYER's Blake Harrison and FAIRWEATHER's Peter Tsouras. One-sided vinyl includes a blank b-side and is limited to 250 copies.
