INDIE/EMO-PUNK. Although the members have made names for themselves for nearly 20 years in other musical endeavors, UNWED reaches far beyond anything in their combined history. INDIE-PUNK-ROCK. Dirty punk-rock with great melodies. Very reminiscent of THE REPLACEMENTS, SEBADOH, and DINOSAUR JR.. Soaring guitar leads and pounding drums. This is a great follow up to their split 7" with Annie from THIS IS MY FIST.

POST/EMO/NOISE-PUNK. "empire" compiles the final pair of albums by the Olympia trio. On 1998's "challenge for a civilized society", the band toyed with conventional verse/chorus form, stacking layers of noise and distraction on top of tightly constructed melodies. They'd abdicate entirely just 3 years later with 2001's "leaves turn inside you", executing a 14-song masterclass in home recording that observed a crucial band in graceful transition from post-hardcore trio to experimental quintet.

POST/EMO/NOISE-PUNK. The UNWOUND album that ended all UNWOUND albums. Recorded in a moldering farmhouse basement at the crest of the new century, "leaves turn inside you" is the no-wave response to Spector's wall-of-noise call. Infinite layers of choppy guitar stabs and bridge scrapes, guttural bass thronk, thrift store synths, and monotone chanting wash over suffocating rhythms to deliver the world's only choral grunge LP. Remastered new edition comes housed in a gatefold-cover.

POST/EMO/NOISE-PUNK. An album Maximum Rock 'N' Roll deemed not punk enough to review, UNWOUND's 1994 sophomore effort was a lethal depth charge aimed at major-label grunge and independent hardcore alike. From the off-kilter, vertiginous rhythm of "entirely different matters" to the neck-snapping velocity of "what was wound" to the relentless pounding at the end of "all souls day", "new plastic ideas" is the SONIC YOUTH-loving older sister to "fake train's" post-punk-obsessed little brother.

SXE-HARDCORE. Debut 7" of UP RIGHTS, a straight-edge band from Toulouse, France. UP RIGHTS is mainly inspired by the late 1990s wave of european straight-edge bands. They play a fine mix of fast, energetic and melodic old-school hardcore and couple it with a message of typical drug-free pride and positivity, while taking a stand against the evils of today's hardcore scene, like violent attitudes, fashion slavery and MySpace addicts.

HARDCORE. Featuring members of BREAK AWAY and FRIEND OR FOE, UPPER HAND burst onto the scene with one of the highlight sets of United Blood 2013, followed up by touring up and down the East-Coast bringing a brand of hardcore inspired by New York bands like MURPHY'S LAW and CRO-MAGS. Vinyl includes a digital download card.

HARDCORE-PUNK. THE UPRISING were a U.K. hardcore band, heavily influenced by early US hardcore as well as what was going on in their scene at the time. They were a short-lived force to be reckoned with. In 1986 they released a demo tape and like most bands, vanished from the scene. Tape traders have kept the demo circulating for 25+ years. For fans of DISCHARGE and early US Hardcore. Members went on to play in THE ENGLISH DOGS, PSYCHO BOMBS, and THE DAMNED. One time pressing of 500 copies.
