HARDCORE. UDUSIC's 2nd 7" offering is titled "ugly", and as advertised, delivers an earful of gunk-and-grime-caked hardcore firmly planted in the tradition of DIE KREUZEN, MECHT MENSCH, NO THANKS and even some Greg Ginn-styled guitar pyrotechnics. Sounding more blown out and unhinged than previous recordings, this is definitely the best and ugliest Udusic offering to date. Vinyl is limited to 500 copies and includes a digital download card.

FOLK-ROCK. UFFE LORENZEN (alias Lorenzo Woodrose) is the frontman of BABY WOODROSE and SPIDS NOGENHAT but from now on he will be recording and performing under his own name and be singing in Danish. The first result is the solo album. "galmandsværk" (loosely translates to "act of madness") contains 10 songs that goes in many directions and sounds as if BABY WOODROSE, SPIDS NOGENHAT and DRAGONTEARS merged and turned into something new. The sound of the album is mostly acoustic with many exotic instruments such as sitar, tablas, bansuri, hurdy gurdy, violin and of cource doses of fuzz. First print of the LP is limited to a 1000 copies on black vinyl.

DOOM-METAL. UFOMAMMUT's status as one of the most potent, powerful and artistic contemporary doom artists in existence continues to captivate the masses, and the band's worldwide grasp grows wider with each release. Each track expands upon the preceding song, unfolding into an exceedingly dense and malevolent journey, resulting in this being UFOMAMMUT's most extreme venture yet, with no permittance for breathing space in the 48min..

DOOM-METAL. The Italian power trio, known for their almighty heavy capabilities and psychedelic prowess, have as many discernible similarities as they do differences to their formative roots. Never pandering to the easy classification of doom, UFOMAMMUT charge their sludgy output with inimitable energy and wild, wayfaring ambition which is matched by the tight-knit musical understanding that flows telepathically between the three members. On their latest album, UFOMAMMUT take a confident step forward with their craft, orchestrating atmospheric processions that take the 6 songs on the album to places as of yet uncharted, the only guide being that of "ecate".

DOOM-METAL. "eve" is the 5th official album by Italy's most cerebral and mammoth doom act UFOMMAMUT. The album - comprised of one 45min. atmospheric track, divided into 5 distinct movements. "eve" is a new step in the sonic adventure of UFOMAMMUT - another level in the band's research. UFOMAMMUT's status as one of the most potent, powerful and artistic contemporary doom artists in existence continues to captivate the masses, and the band's worldwide grasp grows wider with each release. "eve" is an undeniably infectious and utterly devastating piece of doom-metal art that shall surely be a major player.

DOOM-METAL. "godlike snake" is the 1st album of UFOMAMMUT, originally out in 1999. After 18 years the band decided it was time to release a new version of the album. "godlike snake" got a proper remix/remaster (from the original tapes) and the entire albumsound like it was supposed to, years ago.

SLUDGE-HARDCORE. UGLY is a relatively new sludge/doom band hailing from Prescott, Arizona that consists of veteran musicians who also take part in bands such as ENDORPHINS LOST or LANDMINE MARATHON. "wall" is their 2nd 7" and offers 2 dark, misanthropic tracks elaborating on the ugliest traits of human kind. Clocking in at just over 8min., "wall" takes you on a short but enduring journey throughout the human psyche and all that is truly wrong in this world. Reminiscent of early SWANS, DYSTOPIA, and NOOTHGRUSH. UGLY will not disappoint. Limited to 500 copies.

HARDCORE. These born again fellas from a scene before (members of UNSEEN FORCE, HONOR ROLE and JUDGE DREDD) thrash through 6 ripping tracks of classic early '80s hardcore. Good production and very good musicianship throughout this little platter here. Definetly a must have for fans of stuff like DIE KREUZEN, ARTICLES OF FAITH and old, classic Richmond hardcore. Comes with reversible cover for the picky folk.

PUNK-ROCK. This storied 1st-wave Toronto punk outfit have been sadly under-represented on vinyl. Now THE UGLY are back - while legendary and original frontman Mike Nightmare passed away in the '90s, new vocalist Greg Dick (of THE DREAM DATES) is about as capable and credible as they come, and the veteran UGLY trio (with members of THE VILETONES and DEMICS) are determined to set the record straight. This isn't the usual castrated reunion record. This 7" is as tough as they ever been, swaggering through the topside's punkified early STONES in classic fashion but turning up the aggression on the 1978-vintage flipside, a raw, mean and quick-paced hard punk blast with a grinding guitar recalling early BLACK FLAG or SUBHUMANS. One time pressing of 480 only in swank pocket sleeve with insert.

SINGER/SONGWRITER. UKE-HUNT is ME FIRST AND THE GIMME GIMMES vocalist Spike Slawson's latest cover band extravaganza. What started as Spike simply learning and arranging some of his favorite classic songs for the ukulele on his own eventually evolved into added musicians and a layered patchwork of ukulele, saxophone, glockenspiel, stylophone, organ, standup bass and all manner of percussive elements. Obviously, due in no small part to the instrumentation, this most recent foray into the world of breathing new life into shopworn classics displays a decidedly different slant than the breakneck tempo of the GIMMES. Vinyl includes a digital download card.

SINGER/SONGWRITER. The 7" "the prettiest star" is the 1st taste of ME FIRST AND THE GIMME GIMMES vocalist Spike Slawson's latest cover band extravaganza, UKE-HUNT. What started as Spike simply learning and arranging some of his favorite classic songs for the ukulele on his own eventually evolved into added musicians and a layered patchwork of ukulele, saxophone, glockenspiel, stylophone, organ, standup bass and all manner of percussive elements. The headliner of all this instrumentation is, of course, Spike's renowned vocal ability. This 7" flashes a touch of what fans can expect with UKE-HUNT's catchy lounge/soul flavored renditions.

POWER-VIOLENCE HARDCORE. This is raging fastcore from 2 parts of the world, that couldn't be more far away from each other. ULTIMATE BLOWUP from Turkey with 8 tracks of maniac power-violence with a similar stereo voice work to SPAZZ and kinda earsmashing soundwall, we all love INFEST for. KALI from Canada with a similar style, super fast thrashcore smashers with a completely mad singer. Thrash to the max, play fast, die slow!

PUNK-ROCK. ULTIMO RESORTE were the bridge between the very 1st Spanish punk generation and the 1st hardcore wave. During their 5 years of existence (1979-1984) they only managed to record a demo, and 2 impossible to find records. A self-titled 7 track 7" 7" and "una causa sin fondo" a 5 track MLP. "la larga sombra del punk" compiles both those records plus a 16 pages booklet with a long interview with the band and tons of pictures and fanzine clippings. Musically they lay in between the most aggressive parts of VICE SQUAD, DISCHARGE, ELECTRIC DEADS or even SIOUXSIE AND THE BANSHEES. This band helped putting Spain in the international punk map back in the day.

OI/STREET-PUNK. Modern oi! is in an ugly place, a subgenre of a subgenre populated by small fish in an even smaller pond, trying to grow limbs after 3 decades of recycled riffs, copied lyrics, and redundant sloganeering. Enter ULTRA RAZZIA, the Mountie Marauders, the Quebecian Killers. Luckily their trek through the catacombs of oi found them cutting through the brush into less-traveled terrain, and their 1st full-length finds the band dialing back the distortion and focusing on single-string riffs that sound straight out of '82, like early Riot City Records.
