ELECTRONIC/INDUSTRIAL/NOISE. UNIFORM formed in New York City in 2013 when old friends Ben Greenberg (ex-THE MEN) and Michael Berdan (ex-DDRUNKDRIVER) reconnected and realized that they had evolved to a similar place musically. UNIFORM's sound is a marriage made in industrial-punk Hades, draping righteous pique over a grind lashed together from guitar groan and staple-gun electronics. "ghosthouse" shares a basic configuration with the previous UNIFORM releases, but the tools have evolved far beyond their initial drum machine and bass synth setup. The result is the most sonically confrontational UNIFORM material to date.

ELECTRONIC/INDUSTRIAL/NOISE. From the opening whirr of the title track, it's clear that the band is onto something special. Ditching sequenced tracks, Greenberg opted for single takes to highlight the Frankenstein-like guitar-bass-synth hybrid that oozes throughout the recording. Meanwhile, crushing guitar thunder is punched up by Fox's masterful drumming while Berdan's cries from the nether feel more desperate and morose than ever. This is Uniform at its most bleak, emotional, and powerful. Vinyl includes a digital download card.

ELECTRONIC/INDUSTRIAL/NOISE. "wake in fright", the 2nd full-length by the New York City duo UNIFORM, is a harrowing exploration of self-medication, painted in the colors of war. Following the "ghosthouse", vocalist Michael Berdan and guitarist/producer Ben Greenberg return with a new batch of even more punishing tracks that incorporate elements of industrial music, thrash-metal, harsh noise, and power electronics. Vinyl includes a digital download card.

ELECTRONIC/INDUSTRIAL/NOISE. On the heels of their monolithic collaborative LP "mental wounds not healing", the collaboration between industrial-noise post-everything bands UNIFORM and THE BODY returns with a 2nd entry, "everythig that dies someday comes back". Comprised of an amalgam of abrasive influence that spans SWANS-y dirge and purge, WHITEHOUSE's clenched-jaw noise, middle-period MINISTRY's penchant for metallic post-industrial everything, NEW ORDER's nose for melodic emotionality, UNIFORM and THE BODY's approach delves deeper down the rabbit hole than before, igniting a sonic world of terror and bliss poised to grip the throats of fans yet again. Limited purple vinyl includes a digital download card.

ELECTRONIC/INDUSTRIAL/NOISE. In Spring 2017, UNIFORM was asked to support fellow noisy, boundary-pushing duo THE BODY for a tour. The friendship between both bands ended now in a collab¬orative record. Effectively, every song on "mental wounds not healing" is a duet between Berdan and King. The collaboration pushes both bands far beyond their roots in industrial music and metal, creating an immersive listening experience that truly transcends genre. Most of the titles are culled from horror literature and cinema, with specific nods to Shirley Jackson, Jack Ketchum, and Elem Klimov. Vinyl includes a digital download card.

PUNK-ROCK. UNIFORM CHOICE originally formed in 1982 in California in September 1982, recorded these 4 tracks known as the "orange peel sessions". This era of the band did not feature the members that played on the "screaming for change" record and is indeed a very different sounding band with a style much more akin to the Orange County beach punk at the time or late-'70s UK bands. This 7" still serves as an important documentation of one of OC's best bands at their infancy as well as a snapshot of that time and scene in general. Colored (blue) vinyl includes a digital download card.

HARDCORE. For the 1st time ever on 12" vinyl format is the 1984 demo by Orange County, California straight-edge hardcore stalwarts UNIFORM CHOICE. It features the same line-up that would later go on to record the lauded "screaming for change" album. Originally released in very limited quantities on tape and later reissued as a double 7"/CD on Nemesis Records in the early '90s. This deluxe reissue includes a gatefold-jacket featuring restored cover artwork, never-before-scene photos, a reproduction of the original demo lyric sheet, and a poster inlay. Colored vinyl includes a digital download card.

SXE-HARDCORE. One of the greatest American hardcore releases of the '80s gets the deluxe Southern Lord reissue treatment. "screaming for change" was the debut album from Orange County's godfathers of positive jardcore: UNIFORM CHOICE. It was originally released in 1986 on the bands own label, Wishing Well Records. This essential piece of hardcore history has been remastered from the original tapes. The elaborate packaging includes an 8-page booklet bound into a stoughton tip-on gatefold-jacket. There are a ton of amazing, never-before-published photos from the personal archives of the band and their friends. This is a very special release that is not to be missed.

CRUST-HARDCORE/METAL. Dark crusty-punk-metal from Asheville. Caustic female vocals, downtuned guitars, uninhabitable add brief idylls of post-punk brooding and minimalism to their serrated crust-metal assault. Not a single note is wasted, as the band carefully builds towering spirals of intricate and labyrinthine metallics, before destroying the whole thing in fits of full-on rage multiplied by some truly top-notch vocal torture. The 3 songs on this album are full of ambition with not even the slightest hint of pretense. Ex-members of KAKISTROPHY.

LP 14.50€*

DOOM/SLUDGE-METAL. After last year's self-titled debut, UNION OF SLEEP deliver their 2nd release "death in the place of rebirth". Yet again they dish out uncomplicated, riff-based songs and solos which are obviously rooted in rock, but they come with a doom-metal, sludge and even a hardcore edge. Ruder and more decisive, this record punches like a steam hammer! Besides the essential sludgy, heavy riffs and fucked up atmosphere, you will discover a lot of subliminal grooves, too. Be aware of eight beastly fuckers, raw and crude, from the lowest instincts of mankind. Comprehensive yet refined, the union of extreme influences, instinctual prowess and rugged beauty on "death in the place of rebirth" is nothing less than impressive. If you have any sort of neck, "death in the place of rebirth" will force movement out of your head - in an up and down motion. Tech-metal freaks and hipsters alike will pretend to hate it, but they'll be missing out one of the year's best albums. Imagine THE MELVINS committing fornication with NEUROSIS and you'll get a slight idea of what it's about. LP comes with 350gr thick inside-out cover, and inlay. [PK 050]
