HARDCORE-PUNK. RATIONAL ANIMALS, follow up their LP and 7" with the "cross eyed delights/way after midnight" 7". This 7" signals a new direction for the band, one that was made clear by their aforementioned "bock rock parade" LP. "cross eyed delights" ranks as both RATIONAL ANIMALS' most beautiful moment and their crowning achievement-to-date. "way after midnight" compliments its flipside perfectly, acting as a lurching, creeping, classically bluesy stroll through late night longing. A perfect single, a perfect way to go out.

HARDCORE-PUNK. This is the 2nd volume in the "sick club" series by Rochester's RATIONAL ANIMALS. Their "bock rock parade" LP seemed to give the band a bolster in notority as well as the ROTCORE scene as a whole, which is the most underrated scene in the USA. These 2 songs are along the lines of the material from their LP, but also with a slight progression being made. Less guitar wankery on these tracks, but not missing just more in moderation. Limited one-time press of 500 copies.

The songs present a positive outlook and hope of a better future, tempered with dark humor. HARDCORE. Hardcore, one genre that has changed profoundly over the years, changing from an energetic statement fuelled machine to a sludgy, grimy down tempo beat down. However RATRACE have stayed true to the path. "harder they fall" is straightforward hardcore from this polish band. There are plenty of singalongs, breakdowns, talk of honor and integrity. If you’re into honest, killer hardcore, "harder they fall" will be for you. It's exciting from start to finish and will please fans of the MADBALL, TERROR or AGNOSTIC FRONT. Vinyl is limited to 300 copies and includes a digital download card.

PUNK-ROCK. When it comes to timeless and catchy early '80s US punk sound in these fast and modern times of ours, RATS REST from Kansas City could take a big part of the cake. If you like the old-school punk, melodic with a raspy fucked up voice, expressive vocals, mid paced drum-hitting going fast, heavy bass lines, catchy guitar works with a hard-rock attitude / playing, alongside lyric themes about depression, drugs and death, written with a personal view, then this is your new favourite band. If you like LEATHERFACE, MARKED MEN and NO HOPE FOR THE KIDS spin these tunes.

HARDCORE/METAL. Coming straight from one of Finland's darkest and isolated place, RAVAGE RITUAL unleash "souleater", their 1st full-length album. Each song on "soul eater" showing a stronger will to play the most radical hardcore, tinted with H8000's legacy of violence and HolyTerror metallic approach. But the others influences that can't be ignored on this record are the context and conditions behind it: written during fall and winter, those 9 songs perfectly illustrate the dark, desperatly cold and esoteric atmospheres that reign during this period, pushing this album further than the now classic black-hardcore game.

HARDCORE. After a nice demo tape, RAVAGED from Cologne, Germany deliver their 1sst vinyl output. The 7" yet again features furios metallic and grinding hardcore. You'll get 6 tracks with over the top screaming and blasting parts. RAVAGED sounds like a jackhammer to the brain.

THRASH/DEATH-METAL. Ben Ward may have jumped ship to focus on ORANGE GOBLIN but as proven, RAVENS CREED have lost none of their earth-shattering power. As a matter of fact, still featuring a cast of a-class metal veterans: Fraser Craske from SABBAT, Jay Graham from SKYCLAD and Steve Watson from death-metal squad DESCERATOR; but now with the addition of Al Osta on vocals. They way sound even more pissed off than before on their sophomore release. "the power" delivers 13 blasts of proto thrash/death-metal the old-school way that rarely go beyond the 2min mark and don't even bother beating around the bush.

POST-HARDCORE. The members of RAW BLOW have been slugging it out in Boston basements and bars for 10 plus years in other bands like NOW DENIAL, FURNACE, BRAVO FUCKING BRAVO, and LUAU. The sum of their parts is a sonic quilt stitched together from their former acts. Loud, anxious and aggressive guitars are interwoven with grungy impassioned vocal harmonies and No Idea Records style dirt-pop. RAW BLOW as a band, however, represent a fresh start and giant leap of faith for it’s members.
