POST-HARDCORE. More than 3 1/2 years after "deathinteresse" was unleashed on the hardcore-punk crowd, PATSY O'HARA have returned with their 2nd full-length, "...sings the bourgeois blues". It has everything the genre has to offer in one powerful set of 11 songs (nearly 48min.). Nothing sounds stale and they have their own distinct sound while building off the ideas of the music they love to listen to. "...sings the bourgeois blues" is a huge improvement on every level, with the group's hybrid mix of upbeat hardcore, punk, post-rock and good old fashioned rock 'n' roll - melting together to near perfection throughout their latest effort. The quintet puts on a riveting spectacle, with beatific swells of atmospheric and rocking hardcore - over the top, epic intertwined guitars - beautiful groovy bass lines - galloping, punchy drum patterns - demented, raspy screaming vocals. The band knows how to effectively build up a song, tension that mounts to a breaking point. It leads to many exciting moments, as the boiling point tips over, leading to an explosion of aggression. PATSY O'HARA switches off between fast-paced death 'n’ roll mayhem and slower mini-epics. There are also various interludes that move along the album. Recorded and mixed at the mighty Tonmeisterei, the production is full and lush. This, along with the fantastic dynamics between all the band members and the compelling songwriting, makes for a successful sophomore album. Thick 180gr vinyl comes with an outstanding and eyecatching gatefold-sleeve with reverse side printings, black innersleeve and includes a digital download card. Not sure, but the point remains that this release is a killer - so stop reading and pick it up right away! [PK 061]

POST-HARDCORE. PATSY O'HARA was formed back in early 2007 when 5 young men gathered to start something to live up their love for dark and aggressive yet melodic hardcore. After a well reviewed demo and nearly 50 shows they went into the studio and recorded "deathinteresse" by Robin Völkert. Musically "deathinteresse" is a badass bastard of rock 'n' roll driven hardcore with a good portion of Portland hardcore, not unlike FROM ASHES RISE, TRAGEDY etc. or even early Swedish ENDSTAND with dark and desperate lyrics/vocals which have often been compared to those of MODERN LIFE IS WAR and their likes. "deathinteresse" contains 9 blazing tracks fueled with scathing vocals, driven melodic riffs, and a ton of passion. Armed with anger as their energy and backed by achingly severe riffs, unforgiving beats, and ramrod snarls, the band wades through the ultimate tragedy of the modern world. Colored vinyl comes with 350gr thick cover, a huge inlay and includes a digital download card. [PK 047]

POST-PUNK-ROCK. PATTI are 3 people from Oakland, California who write rambunctious dance music with a post-punk tool kit and an insightful yet short attention span. Their songs typically clock in around 2min. long and are a wild head-rush and another addition to the DEVO-core rooster at Erste Theke Records. This is catchy coneheads-core punk, goofy enough to disguise what the members of PATI truly are: shredders.

SINGER/SONGWRITER. Many reviewers call Paul brutally honest. He hates it, but it's true. He sings from the heart about things we all understand. He sings about family problems, loneliness, broken hearts, crushes, romances etc. He will destroy you, if you're a human. This is the re-issued debut album, previously released as CD-only. A break up album that will break you up. Colored vinyl includes a digital download card.

POST-PUNK. After two 7"s and a split tape with CEMETERY, New York City's anarcho-deathrock hybrid PAWNS is poised to release their debut full-length, "the gallows". Against the landscape drawn up by '80s-influenced post-punk, PAWNS casts a more complex shadow than it's predecessors, exploring dark and desperate melodies rooted in classic peace-punk yet teaming in vision and avoidance of categorization. In this melodic maelstrom of bleak, gothic-punk sits frontman Gage Allison whose ominous vocals call to mind the genre pushing, industrial post-punk delivery of bands like KILLING JOKE. Vinyl includes a digital download card.

HARDCORE-PUNK. The "terror of quincy "LP comes from the deepest, darkest corners of the Toxic Shock Records vaults. This LP pairs the best tracks from PEACE CORPSE 1985 masterpiece, "terror of history" (which features Eric Wood of MAN IS THE BASTARD) and the complete "quincy" 7" from 1983. "terror of quincy " features original artwork by Brian "Pushead" Schroeder, with a caricature of Jack Klugman who played the coroner in "quincy" , a tv show, which represented the mainstream media's reaction to the spread of punk to suburbia in the '80s. PEACE CORPSE used sarcasm to address this, similiar to DEAD KENNEDYS or FLIPPER, two of their many influences.

CRUST-HARDCORE. It is 2012 and most of your friends decided that neo-crust and '80s US hardcore revival is over, instead they all listen to music like lo-fi black-metal and neo-folk and play in bands that recycle post-punk, goth or power-pop. PEACEBASTARD do not fall into any of those categories. Many moons ago in Berlin, 3 guys formed the band PEACEBASTARD, what they played was not quite crust and not quite d-beat. After playing out for some time as a three-piece PEACEBASTARD recruited the singer from a famous Swedish band on vocal duties. And as a four piece they really reached the next level. This 2nd 7" has 6 new songs that are fast, angry and rocking at the same time. The 7" comes packaged in a four-color silk-screened cover.

PUNK/MELODYCORE. PEARS laid siege to the punk world with their 2014 debut release, "go to prison", and has been on a buzz-generating rampage ever since. "green star" rages with 16 tracks that are loaded with blazingly fast spurts of aggression. Re-recorded versions of "snowflake" and "anhedonia" (previously heard on last year's "letters to memaw" 7") take on new life, thanks in part to A WILHELM SCREAM who helped engineer the album. Vinyl includes a digital download card.

METAL. Debut LP from the new wave of Houston heavy-metal, PEASANT. From the portrait of torture on the cover to the galloping JUDAS PRIEST riffs hopped up on home-mad speed, PEASANT’s "go to hell" is an album with equal adoration for classic European metal and the ghastliest thrash from America’s underbelly. These Houstonians mix MIDNIGHTS's greasy, grindhouse attack with MERCYFUL FATE’s aesthetics and the rotten punk of the MURDER JUNKIES. Pound a beer, crush the can in your fist, and punch the sky to these twisted tunes. Self released and limited to 500 vinyl.

PUNK. One of the few truley original punk bands these days, PEDESTRIAN prove their songwriting abilities on this new 8 song album. Comparisons come and go from old Dangerhouse bands, ADOLESCENTS, old "Killed By Death-type" shit, etc. because their sound is hard to describe and somehow has managed to appeal to hardcore punks, garage rockers, etc. Fantastic lyrics and musicianship from real D.I.Y. punks playing their hearts out, not some major label fencewalkers which seem to somehow be accepted in the complacent punk scene today. That honesty comes through in the songs in which the power is undeniable. Bloodstains!

PUNK. The follow-up to PEDESTRIANS last 2 excellent and acclaimed full-length's ("Future shock" and "Ideal divide") this new 4 song 7" hits hard with their classic mid-paced punk attack. With a melodic and dark edge, PEDESTRIANS continue with some of the more original sounds today with tuneful guitar parts, thundering bass, and some of the more intelligent and political lyrics dealing with alienation from industry, politicians, and our present day culture. Often compared to classic Chicago bands like NAKED RAYGUN and EFFIGIES or KBD style bands PEDESTRIANS have made their own mark on the modern punk landscape. "Killing season" pushes that envelope even further open.

INDIE-ROCK. "achilles heel" (2004), PEDRO TTHE LION's 5th album, was a hallmark for the band, a culmination of their previous work, and - at the time of its release - their best album to date. "achilles heel" broke down the linear narratives of "the only reason i feel secure" and "control" into broader concepts and themes. Walking through the emotional fray of America's suburban ennui, David Bazan and company built a beautiful and wavering mix of indie-rock and country-folk. Vinyl includes a digital download card.
