PUNK-ROCK. "soarsa" is the 6th studio album of the long going scottish anarchist punk band OI POLLOI. "soarsa" deliver 15 new songs recorded in 2014 with an retrospective of the many musically influences of previous OI POLLOI records. Here you find the anarcho charged singalong oi-styled punk in exchange with d-beat crust and of course classic UK anarcho-punk. "saorsa" (freedom) in scottish gaelic and freedom is the lyrical main subject of this album. Vinyl is housed in a gatefold-sleeve with additional poster and lyric sheet.

POST-ROCK. "black sheep boy" is OKKERVIL RIVER’s most ambitious and cinematic record yet, a love story and adult fable that evokes the mature songcraft of Leonard Cohen, the sophistication of Scott Walker, the shambling slow-motion bravado of Neil Young and the raw nerves and trick effects of Big Star. The most fully realized and wildly adventurous OKKERVIL RIVER album also introduces such previously foreign elements as children’s keyboards, digitally manipulated field recordings, and dirty splatters of distorted guitar. Includes the 7 songs from "appendix". Vinyl version includes a MP3 download card.

POST-ROCK. On "i am very far", Sheff emerges not only as a songwriter of the highest caliber, but a producer and arranger of singular vision. Abandoning the tidy conceptual arcs of OKKERVIL RIVER's previous albums, "i am very far" is a monolithic, darkly ambiguous work, one that doesn’t readily offer up its secrets. Richer and weirder than "the stage names" and deeper and moodier than even "black sheep boy", "i am very far" is dense, fragmented, opaque. A reverie of uncertainty, it feels at once disorienting and oddly familiar, threatening and friendly. OKKERVIL RIVER have thrown away all maps and compasses but they continue to chart their way, unblinking, toward destinations unknown. Vinyl comes with a MP3 download card.

POST-ROCK. "mermaid" is the darkest song you'll hear all year: a self-contained fable shot through with evocative and disturbing imagery but rising to a sweeping, romantic, oddly moving climax. This waltz-time ballad gestures towards the tattered folk of OKKERVIL RIVER's beloved 2005 album "black sheep boy". With "walked out on a line" you'll get a glimpse of what might further emerge. Choral and atmospheric and stripped of any of the acoustic textures that have defined much of the band’s past work. Vinyl version includes a MP3 download card.

POST-ROCK. This record dynamites the moss-covered castle walls of 2005's "black heep boy" to let in the glaring sun. Riddled with characters real and fake, with the relics of high culture and the crumpled up trash of low culture, "the stage names" is a cinemascopic take on the meaning of entertainment in the modern world. Reverberant with echoes of motown snap and girl-group-pop, redolent with ripe whiffs of dirty rock 'n' roll, shining with the shimmy of BO DIDDLEY, with the shimmer of the VELVET UNDERGROUNDS, with the swagger of THE FACES, and with a glittery sprinkling of cheap perfume to disguise the stink, "the stage names" is a relentlessly paced and ruthlessly thrilling journey.

POST-ROCK. The Austin band's 5th album, is packed with the same compound sentences, sprawling narratives, and precarious, barn-dance guitars that made its companion piece, 2007's "the stage names", so weirdly gripping. Still, "the stand ins", which features a haze of banjo, mandolin, mellotron, piano, hammond organ, pedal steel, sleigh bells, and gentle percussion, functions perfectly well on its own, raucous and contemplative in equal measure.

POST-ROCK. "wake and be fine" is the 1st 7" from the forthcoming LP "i am very far" from OKKERVIL RIVER. To announce the new record, Okkervil River performed "wake and be fine" with A.C. Newman (The New Pornographers).

METAL/HARDCORE/PUNK. While OKKULTOKRATI 's debut "no light for mass" is still germinating lively in the subconscious world of metal and punk, here's another shot of what your body hates but your mind loves: 4 new OKKULTOKRATI songs and a cover of REAGAN YOUTH's "no class". Topics for this 7" - touch upon mind-expanding drugs, physical decay, witch hunts, intricate torture, the forging of metal, unveiling deity and exposing eternal life.

METAL/HARDCORE/PUNK. "night jerks" is the 3rd album from the unpredictable, genre defying OKKULTOKRATI. The time towards the album release has been marred by hardship and insecurity for guitarist and songwriter Pål Bredup, who has been struggling with an aggressive muscular disease. As a result, the synth is heavily represented on "night jerks". Also on guitar is newcomer Milton von Krogh of PIRATE LOVE, who has recently joined the band permanently, as well as producing the album. "night jerks" is a monotonous master piece, where chilly, modern reality gets its musical counterpoint. The result is the ultimate OKKULTOKRATI record, where the band's primal punk finds its place in a captivating beat, filled with floating guitars and rumbling synth.

METAL/HARDCORE/PUNK. Lead as always by grand visionary and songwriter Erik Svarte, on "raspberry dawn", OKKULTOKRATI thrust the heretic rock 'n' roll that they have cultivated since their 2008 inception into more extraordinary situations. Classic '70s riffing, snotty punk, and brash old-school metal are inventively mixed with pulses and spikes of dark-wave and ice cold, psychedelic repetition. The fresh addition of a synth player on "raspberry dawn" allows OKKULTOKRATI to fully expand in to their new stage, where nothing and everything is sacred.

METAL/HARDCORE/PUNK. "snakereigns" is the 2nd album from Norway's rawest punk-metal act. OKKULTOKRATI was concieved when members from HAUST and a handful of other Oslo-based underground bands joined forces with the aim to create fast and ugly music that was not hardcore - and definitely not metal! Building their anthems on straightforward punk beats with the filth of unholy rock 'n' roll running through their veins, OKKULTOKRATI proudly let their influences from the masters of the genre bleed through, yet their spine-crushing anthems speak for themselves with unique guitar atmospheres and a mix of high/low-end riffage busting through the thunderous percussion and gnarled vocals.

HARDCORE. "caskets" is the debut LP from OLD GHOSTS, a hardcore band from Buffalo, NY, containing 3 former members of DEAD HEARTS and it shows: with passionately screamed vocals, hard breakdowns and sublime melodies. "caskets" covers a lot of ground in its 22min. play time. If you've liked DEAD HEARTS, the territory will be familiar. However, OLD GHOSTS isn't just more of the same, their sound is darker and harder, with lyrics that range from the deeply personal to questioning the concepts of god and faith. "caskets" creating an almost palpable aura of rage and despair and pulling the listener in with dark and haunting soundscapes.
