PUNK-ROCK. PATTI are 3 people from Oakland, California who write rambunctious dance music with a post-punk tool kit and an insightful yet short attention span. Their songs typically clock in around 2min. long and are a wild head-rush and another addition to the DEVO-core rooster at Erste Theke Records. This is catchy coneheads-core punk, goofy enough to disguise what the members of PATI truly are: shredders.

PUNK-ROCK. Debut full-length from this band based in New York. Rhythmically, PATTI have more of a MINUTEMEN-type white funk swing to them, but the deadpan vocals and Krautrock-ish way of riding simple, repetitive riffs will do any URANIUM CLUB fan right. The bass lines, guitar lines, and vocal patterns are uniformly interesting, but one place PATTI excel is in writing cool bridge parts. This is top-notch egg punk, so even if you only mess with the hits like URANIUM CLUB and CONEHEADS this is worth checking out.

HARDCORE. The irate and gloomy sounds of Cleveland, London, Stoke-on-Trent, and any other hub of negative reinforcement in-between, needs a soundtrack to get across a message that words could never convey. "second to none" from London band PAYDAY, is one such soundtrack, giving no space for a breather whilst providing a realisation that life is for living on the edge now or never, and never is not an option. The melee of influences to get it across is anything but for a straight-edge band in 2019, such as RINGWORM and INTEGRITY. Whilst others shout about positivity, PAYDAY are living in hell without the comfort of escapism, just cold, hard and ugly truths. Colored (green) vinyl is limited to 300 copies and includes a digital download card.

HARDCORE-PUNK. The "terror of quincy "LP comes from the deepest, darkest corners of the Toxic Shock Records vaults. This LP pairs the best tracks from PEACE CORPSE 1985 masterpiece, "terror of history" (which features Eric Wood of MAN IS THE BASTARD) and the complete "quincy" 7" from 1983. "terror of quincy " features original artwork by Brian "Pushead" Schroeder, with a caricature of Jack Klugman who played the coroner in "quincy" , a tv show, which represented the mainstream media's reaction to the spread of punk to suburbia in the '80s. PEACE CORPSE used sarcasm to address this, similiar to DEAD KENNEDYS or FLIPPER, two of their many influences.

CRUST-HARDCORE. It is 2012 and most of your friends decided that neo-crust and '80s US hardcore revival is over, instead they all listen to music like lo-fi black-metal and neo-folk and play in bands that recycle post-punk, goth or power-pop. PEACEBASTARD do not fall into any of those categories. Many moons ago in Berlin, 3 guys formed the band PEACEBASTARD, what they played was not quite crust and not quite d-beat. After playing out for some time as a three-piece PEACEBASTARD recruited the singer from a famous Swedish band on vocal duties. And as a four piece they really reached the next level. This 2nd 7" has 6 new songs that are fast, angry and rocking at the same time. The 7" comes packaged in a four-color silk-screened cover.

PUNK/MELODYCORE. PEARS laid siege to the punk world with their 2014 debut release, "go to prison", and has been on a buzz-generating rampage ever since. "green star" rages with 16 tracks that are loaded with blazingly fast spurts of aggression. Re-recorded versions of "snowflake" and "anhedonia" (previously heard on last year's "letters to memaw" 7") take on new life, thanks in part to A WILHELM SCREAM who helped engineer the album. Vinyl includes a digital download card.

PUNK/MELODYCORE. The self-titled 3rd album by PEARS is yet another significant step forward for a band that has grown by leaps and bounds on each album. It's 14 songs and 31min. of the band's signature melodycore: heavy, blistering, pointed, and surprisingly catchy. While their former albums were written well in advance; this was written on the fly, and the result is 14 tracks with ankle-breaking tempo changes, frenetic guitar riffs, and impelling vocals. Vinyl includes a digital download card.

METAL. Debut LP from the new wave of Houston heavy-metal, PEASANT. From the portrait of torture on the cover to the galloping JUDAS PRIEST riffs hopped up on home-mad speed, PEASANT’s "go to hell" is an album with equal adoration for classic European metal and the ghastliest thrash from America’s underbelly. These Houstonians mix MIDNIGHTS's greasy, grindhouse attack with MERCYFUL FATE’s aesthetics and the rotten punk of the MURDER JUNKIES. Pound a beer, crush the can in your fist, and punch the sky to these twisted tunes. Self released and limited to 500 vinyl.

PUNK. One of the few truley original punk bands these days, PEDESTRIAN prove their songwriting abilities on this new 8 song album. Comparisons come and go from old Dangerhouse bands, ADOLESCENTS, old "Killed By Death-type" shit, etc. because their sound is hard to describe and somehow has managed to appeal to hardcore punks, garage rockers, etc. Fantastic lyrics and musicianship from real D.I.Y. punks playing their hearts out, not some major label fencewalkers which seem to somehow be accepted in the complacent punk scene today. That honesty comes through in the songs in which the power is undeniable. Bloodstains!

PUNK. The follow-up to PEDESTRIANS last 2 excellent and acclaimed full-length's ("Future shock" and "Ideal divide") this new 4 song 7" hits hard with their classic mid-paced punk attack. With a melodic and dark edge, PEDESTRIANS continue with some of the more original sounds today with tuneful guitar parts, thundering bass, and some of the more intelligent and political lyrics dealing with alienation from industry, politicians, and our present day culture. Often compared to classic Chicago bands like NAKED RAYGUN and EFFIGIES or KBD style bands PEDESTRIANS have made their own mark on the modern punk landscape. "Killing season" pushes that envelope even further open.

INDIE-ROCK. "achilles heel" (2004), PEDRO TTHE LION's 5th album, was a hallmark for the band, a culmination of their previous work, and - at the time of its release - their best album to date. "achilles heel" broke down the linear narratives of "the only reason i feel secure" and "control" into broader concepts and themes. Walking through the emotional fray of America's suburban ennui, David Bazan and company built a beautiful and wavering mix of indie-rock and country-folk. Vinyl includes a digital download card.

INDIE-ROCK. "control" (originally released in 2002) is the 3rd full-length album by the band. PEDRO THE LION is armed with a 10 song arsenal that heralds another beautiful progression within the band's sound and lyrical vision. A deepening complexity to their songwriting mirrors the complexity of messages and lyrical content. Anchored by trademark rolling, indelible hooks and Dave Bazan's vocals, which swing from sweet indictments to mournful mocking, PEDRO THE LION digs deep to examine the vast disparity between the "haves" and the "have-nots". Vinyl includes a digital download card.
