POST-PUNK. Richmond's TEENAGE CENOBITE have risen from humble beginnings as a bedroom recording project into a wild, noisy synth-punk machine. Originally the solo project Hank Allen has assembled a full live band, enlisting the rhythm section of psych-punks SLUMP, amongst others. "live" is the 1st group CENOBITE recording, including a few reworked hits, along with several new tracks. There's a certain direct and ugly tinge to these recordings that hangs in the same league of noisy damage as the early AmRep catalog run through a contemporary punk/hardcore sensibility.

PUNK-ROCK. Three fresh cuts of loud punk-rock from Richmond’s best new export, THE TERMINAL FIVE. Four SLUGZ members kept together after the group disbanded, resulting in a new rock 'n' roll unit designed to flat out destroy. On "3x5", THE TERMINAL FIVE zero in on a sound that draws from the best '70s punk, applying a solid appreciation for the powerful songwriting and playing degenerate rock. Tapes come professionally duplicated and printed for best results.

HARDCORE. This recreation of the TURNING POINT demo tape from 1988 is the 1st release as Revelation Records reissues the band’s out-of-print catalog. From New Jersey, TURNING POINT was the state’s answer to the hardcore movement of New York and Connecticut of the late-'80s, playing up and down the East Coast before disbanding in 1991. Jade Tree and Think Fast Records released the band’s catalog as a discography in the early 2000s, but none of the releases have been issued as stand-alone records since they were 1st released.

HARDCORE. Three songs of raging hardcore that sound like an opening band at a UNIFORM CHOICE and EXCEL show at Fender's Ballroom in 1986. Punk beats, dirty guitars, stuff that will really get the pit moving. Hardcore the way it was meant to be.

PUNK-ROCK. UTOPIAN are based in Los Angeles and play a versatile mixture of punk which doesn't bore. The thick, meaty playing in combination with these super straightforward arrangements generate quite a lot of power. They blending aspects of '80s Italian, Brazilian, Spanish and North American punk with other diverse elements into one great 6-song tape. Dark and claustrophobic, with echoing sharp guitars, galloping drums, and great vocals you believe every word. The sound is dense, frantic, and layered, and despite the fact that it's super raw and punk.

HARDCORE. North Carolina's WRIGGLE are pure North Carolina hardcore... loud, fast, heavy, and slightly metallic in a tradition that started with NO LABELS and C.O.C. and carried on through DOUBLE NEGATIVE, DEVOUR, and STRIPMINES. This demo tape is one of the rawest, meanest, and catchiest slabs of hardcore in ages. With its spot-on 4-track production this could have been a lost contribution to the "no core" compilation tape, and the music is undiluted angst of the type only a small southern town can engender.
