HARDCORE/METAL. GIDEON are a no holds barred, in-your-face hardcore band with an already impressive repertoire. Well-placed gang vocals and a powerful front man set GIDEON apart from many of their peers, while the band as a whole, whose members have been playing together only since 2008, come off sounding like seasoned pros. For fans of xDEATHSTARx, TERROR.

POP-PUNK. THE GIRLS are an all-boy band from Seattle with their feet, hands and early firmly set inside the school of post-punk, new-wave pure pop charm, mixing up THE STROKES, your favorite band band from Sweden in the last few years and dump THE CARS, T.REX and BUZZCOCKS for a bit grounding and you have dialed-in. These guys indulge in power-pop like true hedonists, their unmitigated passion for the music negating any shred of the hipness their influences imply. It's geeky, twitchy, colorful punk-power-pop-glam-rock with a whole lot of their own unique personality stamped on to each and every song despite the parade of influences. The band wastes no time kicking your ass, each brittle gemstone here, kicks in.

POST-HARDCORE/ROCK. GIT SOME has morphed into the lean and mean Denver-based quartet that it is today. "loose control" is their sophomore release following 2008’s "cosmic rock". Take the raw-edged guitar and bass tones and riffs for which PLANES MISTAKEN FOR STARS was well known and render them spikier and more rhythmically intense. The vocalist balances soulful wails and harsh screams; his approach works well with lyrics that avoid broad statements on politics/society. The drummer’s solid but constantly shifting foundation delivers beats that underline the structure of each song, and intense fills that contribute a sense of spontaneity and surprise.

PUNK 'N' ROLL. Clap your hands, stomp your feet. The boys are back - GIUDA (pronounced JEW-DA) are an Italian glam, boot boy band from Rome, born from the ashes of one of the finest European punk rock groups: TAXI. GIUDA take that same glammy, proto-punk foundation and fuse it with the grimy, tattered muck of bands like THIRD WORLD WAR, EDDIE AND THE HOT RODS and COCK SPARRER to create a timeless arsenal of glam injected, pub-rock classics, of which 10 make up the new sensational album "let's do it again". Specifically the early '70s pre-punk, glitter days when music was all about monstrous riffs, boisterous attitudes, high energy experimentation and fun.

POST-PUNK. GLOOM SLEEPER return to the fray with a mighty sophomore album – a manic collision of driving pop melodicism, post-punk sang-froid and four-to-the-floor garage rock energy. Physically they’re in Germany, but their hearts are scattered all over the place: Macclesfield, where they’ve absorbed the raw gothic clatter of proto-Joy Divisionists WARSAW; Notting Hill, where the darkling shimmer of KILLING JOKE somehow found its way into the world…plus all manner of US punk-rock hotspots (New York, Detroit, Cleveland, you name it) dribble into the music like blood into water. They’re at their best when the strands unfurl across each other, like when the shredded-nerve guitars of "city of unrest" soft-fade into a tense, crystalline synth finale. Meanwhile out-and-out rock’n’roll cuts like "perceptions" and "he smiles" prod and poke at your punk-rock heart, daring you to reach into their sweaty embrace while simultaneously keeping you at a distance with a foreboding stare and an outstretched arm. Cold always feels warm once you’ve acclimatised, of course, and these are songs you’ll wanna get inside – if they don’t get inside you first. Essentially, "luminous galaxies" is a stunning leap forward. The best bit? Oh, just the creeping suspicion that there’s even better to come… but for now, this is a mighty fine place to start. Limited colored vinyl comes housed in an eyecatching cover with printed innersleeve and CD version. [PK 077]

INDIE/ELECTRO-POP. GLÖS started as Keeley Davis (ENGINE DOWN, DENALI) and Cornbread Compton (ENGINE DOWN, BIOLOGY, HEAVENS). Using their laptops to create songs, the duo found strength and freedom in writing separately and then collaborating; adding to each other's songs as if they were created mutually in the same room was natural and noticeable. After collaborating on over 20 songs and having never physically played the songs together they invited Keeley's sister Maura Davis (front-woman of DENALI) to join the project and to add her beautiful, sultry vocals to the songs that already seemed perfect for her. After years of writing and refining, GLÖS released "harmonium".

DOOM/NOISE/ELECTRONIC. GNAW's debut, "this face", sounds like a computer hate-fucking rock band. Vocalist Alan Dubin of KHANATE fame and drummer Jamie Sykes of BURNING WITH have teamed up with shrewd instrumentalist Carter Thornton and award winning sound techs Jun Mizumachi and Brian Beatrice to create the newest signpost in extreme music. Over the course of 50min. the quintet aurally accosts the listener with myriad squeaks, squeals, and good old fashioned doom. GNAW has a strong industrial feel - both dissonant rock and abrasive noise sections trudge mechanically forward like an electric hate golem. GNAW’s 1st stab at a record marks a killing blow. "this face" is strange, disturbing music for warped minds and hopeless deviants.

NOISE/PSYCHEDELIC/KRAUT-ROCK. The re-issue of the now highly sought after classic "gnod droput with white hills II". Zhis is the 1st official collaboration between 2 of the most colossal cosmic manglers on the planet, that of astral rejecters GNOD and spacerock juggernauts WHITE HILLS. The 8 tracks embedded with 4 long 10min. plus pieces and these anchor the whole experience firmly into an exciting haze of echoing psychedelia, electronic & experimental Krautrock trippo-nova.

HARDCORE. "influence" is an achievement by nature of its very existence, an unyielding display of GO DEEP's determination distilled into sonic form. It's an album that is undeniably hardcore but reshaped into something more; something more distinct, more powerful and above all, more intense. For fans of AMERICAN NIGHTMARE, MODERN LIFE IS WAR and THE HOPE CONSPIRACY.

SXE-HARDCORE. "histories" is the 2nd full-length release from Vancouver's own GO IT ALONE. As a follow up to "the only blood between us", this 11 track album combines GO IT ALONE's brand of melodic hardcore in the vein of CHAIN OF STRENGTH, BATTERY, COUNT ME OUT or early DAG NASTY) with a darker, heavier sound as on previous releases. As usual, the album is full of thought-provoking, brutally honest, introspective lyrics that hit strikingly close to home, pulling at the strings of self-doubt. Get yourself a favour and buy this one!

SXE-HARDCORE. The 1st full-length recording from GO IT ALONE is finally here. The record has the same melodic hardcore flavor we've come to know from GO IT ALONE, much along the lines of CHAIN OF STRENGTH, COUNT ME OUT, CARRY ON, and BATTERY, but this time around, the message is more saddening and more uplifting, all at the same. To put it simply, this record is much more intense than those of the past.

CD 11.50€*

SXE-HARDCORE. The debut effort from GO IT ALONE, entitled "vancouver gold", is melodic hardcore at its best. Taking cues from the likes of CHAIN OF STRENGTH, GO IT ALONE mixes aggressive, straight-ahead hardcore with an emotion that brings to mind only a few bands in recent memory, namely COUNT ME OUT and BATTERY. This MCD has a similar driving, melodic sound, yet the lyrical content and the overall feel of the record is much darker and more brooding than that of its contemporaries.

HARDCORE. Finally repressed after several years. Get all 4 of GO!'s 7" from 1989-1991 plus some compilation and demo tracks on one CD! You'll get 48 songs in like 46 min.. For fans of NEGATIVE APPROACH, LIMP WRIST, I OBJECT and other stuff like that. This is great hardcore from New York City with well thought-out lyrics - no neanderthal crap here.
