POST/POP-PUNK. Taking their name from a small gadget used in electrical circuitry, EDDY CURRENT SUPPRESSION RING jumped fully formed from the womb and have in their three short years of existence perfected their own unique take on this rock'n'roll business. Their songs seem to have written themselves and are memorable classics one and all; strap early SAINTS and WIRE to the bones of X, have 'em slice up the '60s songbook and you're close. These unassuming gents are arguably the most engaging live band in the land, and have fostered an insane diehard who are hanging from the rafters at every show in Melbourne and Sydney.

POST/INDIE-ROCK. This Swedish quintet showed early on that they had a skill for writing beautifully delicate music, including both classical instruments like cello, organs, and accordion with modern rock instruments, and even some electronics to craft songs so honest in their simplicity, yet treasured for their layers of sound. "i am responsible" is post-rock through and through, from the development of the melodies to the progression of the guitar riffs and tones. EF also lays a little heavier on the vocals with this album, which is a step up from their previous efforts for sure. Edited, remixed and remastered, "i am responsible" has a whole new sound to it. Comes with a bear-remix called “grizzly” by Udo Rabenstein.

POST/INDIE-ROCK. Sweden’s post-rock outfit EF deliever with "mourning golden morning" their 3rd studio release. The band manages to glide effortlessly while still rising and falling, speeding up and slowing down. All this comes to a head when the male/female vocals subtly subdue the song into a dream-like trance before rapidly building up into a barrage led by the percussion. The album's standout is a step furthest into the unknown from what EF are ever so used to. Reminiscent of a less abrasive RUSSIAN CIRCLES and CASPIAN hybrid, fused together with a non-electronica based 65DAYS OF STATIC. EF do the doom and gloom so well that it almost seems nothing but a natural progression.

SXE-HARDCORE. From the 1st breaths on the opening track to the shrill end of the closer, THE EFFORT's most recent offering is a visceral, desperate and personal attack on the American dream. It is clear that the band is filled with an anger that is so perfectly captured in the poignant and timely sonic assault that this Massachusetts quintet deliver. Swift driving melody laced with elusive sharp edges, ala DANGERS, TOUCHE AMORE, THE EFFORT's "wartime citizens" can easily stand tall amongst both relevant contemporaries and revered predecessors.

METALCORE. Mixing fierce heavy-metal with blistering hardcore and a touch of melody, EIGHTEEN VISIONS garnered attention on the 2004 Warped Tour, which coincided with the release of the band's 4th Trustkill Records album, "obsession". Fueled by plenty of angst and aggression, the music of EIGHTEEN VISIONS occasionally verges on emo territory, making it appealing to anyone that likes their music loud and intense.

METALCORE. Hot on the heels of reforming and releasing their 1st new album in 11 years, EIGHTEEN VISIONS presents this 2xLP reissue of 2000's "until the ink runs out". Originally released on Trustkill Records, this album deliver powerful and crushing drums, a mind-bending distorted bass, technical yet simple guitar riffs, and vocals that at any time can range from guttural growls and ear piercing screams to harmonic melodies and back again. DoLP comes with an etched d-side.

METALCORE. EIGHTEEN VISIONS have been promising to deliver an album that glistens as well as it growls, rocks as hard as it punches and sounds as good as the band looks. "vanity" is that album, distilling the Orange County mob's convoluted, technical metalcore of yore into blisteringly powerful yet melodiously catchy and instantly memorable songs. "vanity" still pummels and shreds enough to get a HATEBREED audience dancing, but it swings and grooves simultaneously, like the death 'n' roll of THE HAUNTED or ENTOMBED, and tastes as somberly bittersweet as ALICE IN CHAINS. This album will turn heads.

INDIE/EMO-POP. EISLEY has been making music together since they were pre-teens, but 2013's "currents" is the 1st album they wrote, recorded and produced themselves. Whereas their last album spoke of the heartache of lost loves, "currents" reflects a new chapter for the group, ripe with musical experimentation and a fresh outlook. For fans of RADIOHEAD and BRIGHT EYES. Colored vinyl includes a digital download card.

INDIE/EMO-POP. Texas based indie-pop outfit EISLEY deliver their 5th studio album. "i'm only dreaming" stays true to form of the band's signature dreamy sound. Musically it’s classic EISLEY, in the sense that it’s melodic, moody pop and is written from the heart. For fans of MANCHESTER ORCHESTRRA, RILO KILEY or DEATH CAB FOR CUTIE. Colored vinyl includes a digital download card.

STONER/PSYCHEDELIC-ROCK. With their 2nd full-length, "dead roots stirring", originally released in 2011, ELDER returned from a 3 year silence with 5 songs charting new epic territory. Tremendous musical and songwriting growth take this album into a great new territorry. Equal parts hypnotic rhythm, uncompromising heaviness, and soaring melody, ELDER navigated between moods and sounds effortlessly. Heaviness is not sacrificed by any means, the power of the riff is undiminished, it is further elevated by the sonic space inbetween giving us time to let them sink in completely. Newly remastered album includes a digital download card.

STONER/PSYCHEDELIC-ROCK. Joining the interplay of heaviness and melody which has become the hallmark ELDER sound is a host of new meanderings through uncharted kosmische territory; kraut-rock, prog as well as classic heavy-rock and doom can all be heard unfolding throughout the record's 5 songs. By giving equal credence to riffs and atmosphere, "lore" bypasses genre constraints, the group's penchant for progressive songwriting and melody shining more brightly than ever. While ELDER's sound is now much more evolved and varied, it is still consistently based around rock and metal, originally influenced by such heavy landmark bands as BLACK SABBATH, SLEEP and ELECTRIC WIZARD. Vinyl includes a digital download card.
