HARDCORE. The year was 1981 and hardcore was on the rise... Blaine, Steve, Loud, and Paul made up one of the West-Coast's most seminal bands of the time, with scathingly political lyrics and collage artwork to match. Members later went on to such bands as TEN MINUTE WARNING, THE ACCÜSED and GUNS N' ROSES.

HARDCORE. THE FARTZ, hailing from Seattle, terrorized the Northwest in the early '80s and reformed in 1998 after a long hiatus. Finally, here's an album of all material channeling their pent up hardcore rage of post-Reagan years! Blaine's caustic paint-peeling vocals are still intact, fortified by the return of the original bassist, lyricist, artist Steve, plus Alex (ex-THE ACCÜSED) on guitar and Karl (ex-DETONATORS ) on drums.

HARDCORE. FASTBREAK combine traditional hardcore roots with other influences. "whenever your ready" chronicles years of progression and style that FASTBREAK has become known for. This record could be compared to later GORILLA BICUITS or LIFETIME but FASTBREAK has created a sound that is all their own.

POST-HARDCORE. Featuring former members of USURP SYNAPSE, RAPIDER THAN HORSEPOWER, REP SEKI and others, FAX ARCANA abandon the expected throat shredding vocals for a more melodic approach. The result is razor sharp guitar work, machine-like rhythms and vocals that lean more toward soulful than screaming. Yes, there is singing here. FAX ARCANA’s sound is urgent, angular, churning, and much too dark for the too easily tear-jerked crowd that spends rainy Sundays sipping tea and playing with their cats. For fans of VSS, CLIKITAT IKATOWI, NATION OF ULYSSES and UNWOUND.

POST-HARDCORE. This ambitious Colorado sextet introduce darker, moodier and more melodic elements to the jagged screamo-prog for which they've become known. The result is a wildly imaginative mix of vitriolic post-hardcore, unteachable instrumentation and uncompromising lyricism that ought to confound as many rock critics as it deafens. Formerly known as FEAR BEFORE THE MARCH OF FLAMES - the band has returned with their new name and ultimate album.

HARDCORE. NYC hardcore mainstays FED UP return with 12 songs of simple, straightforward, street-wise hardcore in the vein of their earlier releases. A fine dose of Boston with hints from SLAPSHOT to NEGATIVE APPROACH, early NYC acts like AGNOSTIC FRONT and MURPHYS LAW and of course a hint of UK classics like BLITZ or ONE WAY SYSTEM. "sheer poetry" is highly recommended to fans of old-styled hardcore that enjoy any of the mentioned above bands.

So now we have 'Cendre'... Cendre was recorded between 2004 and 2006 in New York City by Ryuichi Sakamoto and in Vienna by Christian Fennesz. They came together for the mix in New York City in February of that year. Fennesz would send Sakamoto a guitar or electronic track and Sakamoto would compose his piano piece. This process was also reversed - Sakamoto initiating the track with a piano composition and Fennesz responding. Meanwhile they met for live shows, or communicated via digital means to compare notes, swop ideas and develop themes... And the cyclical process continued right up until the final mix. Ryuichi Sakamoto and Christian Fennesz blend the unstructured and imaginative qualities of improvisation with the satisfying sculpture of composition. Sakamoto's piano, his style reminiscent of Debussy and Satie, perfectly complements Fennesz with his powerful blend of shimmering guitar and passionate electronics. Together they have combined to create 11 tracks of satisfying and challenging possibilities...

HARDCORE. FIGHT PRETTY started as a two person side-project in 2003. As the band added members the music took on a new and darker direction and by the end of their first tour they were barely even the same band they started out as. The mood turned angry and inward, while the songs dealt with the desperation spawned by a life that promised very little outside of misery and routine. Houston's FIGHT PRETTY recorded these 10 songs of SOME GIRLS, CONVERGE and CATTLE DECAPITATION-influenced hardcore. Fast furious, rough and brutal. These guys from Texas tear shit up.

EMO-ROCK. FIGHTSTAR is the product of frontman Charlie Simpson's marked preference for heavier guitar rock over the music he had previously produced with the highly successful guitar pop-trio BUSTED. His intention to carry on carving out a musical career in a different genre has continued with the release of FIGHTSTAR's 1st full-length album, "Grand unification". With raw power, melodic guitars and hard rock hooks, FIGHTSTAR show the world that they know exactly where they are going. Complete with an unreleased bonus song the album will floor you with its sincerity and driving rhythms.

HARDCORE. Los Angeles, California's FINAL CONFLICT were highly influenced by British punk bands like DISCHARGE and one of the 1st bands to blend hardcore’s simplistic and manic sound and heavy metal's musicianship with any degree of success. These spiky haired punks created a sound that would go on to be emulated by hundreds of bands, none ever reaching the level of raw power that this LP contained. Originally issued on Pushead’s Pusmort Records in 1987 then later issued via Relapse Records in 1994, this stellar album now find’s a new home. Includes 24 page booklet with old photos, flyers and interviews plus lyrics and fold out poster. CD version includes 15 additional demo tracks.

HARDCORE. It's obvious this Richmond, four-piece is more than prepared to release their 1st full-length, "not of this earth". With two 7"s under their belt the NYC hardcore influenced FIRE & ICE will continue to reel people in with their groove-oriented style and distinct sound. Since 2009, FIRE & ICE has stayed strong; don't expect any less on their first release on Reaper Records.
