FOLK/INDIE-ROCK. "caught in the trees" marks the dawn of a new era for DAMIEN JURADO. It may not be a huge departure from some of his past albums musically, but lyrically JURADO has taken a giant leap forward and there is no turning back. He subsequently found refuge in sharing the songs with his closest friends and bandmates on the compositions - some much more rocking than JURADO fans are used to, but ever as intense. The result is a record that Jurado loyalists will find was worth the wait. And perhaps a reason to listen for those who have yet to give this bedraggled storyteller a chance. Vinyl includes a digital download card.

FOLK/INDIE-ROCK. In "maraqopa", the vistas are miles-wide - the action is more dynamic - the close-ups sweaty and snarling. We've never heard anything like this from Jurado. Fifteen years into his remarkable career, and he continues to blossom. Jurado and Swift establish themselves not only as inventive, trusting collaborators, but as one another's spirit animals in American outsider songcraft-lone wolves in black sheep's clothing. Vinyl includes a digital download card.

FOLK/INDIE-ROCK. Like previous albums, "the horizon just laughed" started with a dream. Though, that's where things change, as they often do. It is DAMIEN JURADO's 1st self-produced album in a 20+ year career, more personal and more rooted than even his "maraqopa" trilogy, as though after so much time on the road he's stumbled upon his home. The album feels like a beautiful collage - its narrative pieced together through letters and postcards, with each part contributing to its greater whole, and providing snapshots of one's journey to find a sense of place and connection to a changing world. Vinyl includes a digital download card.

FOLK/INDIE-ROCK. Providing the ideal entry point for neophytes and an intoxicating aural high for the faithful, DAMIEN JURADO's new opus extends the hot streak ignited by 2012's "maraqopa" and its 2014 follow-up "brothers and sisters of the eternal son". Cut once again with label-mate and super producer Richard Swift, "visions of us on the land" completes the tale of an individual who has had to disappear from society in order to discover some universal truths. Vinyl includes a digital download card.

INDIE-ROCK. The album just for your edification is pronounced “Us in music”. Hard at work on the road and doing the D.I.Y. thing well, the band has already made a bit of a name for itself. Melodic vocals, stirring guitar rhythms, and driving beats make DAMIERA one band that everyone should look forward to in 2007. DAMIERA’s music itself latches onto your deepest thoughts and allows you to mold your own perceptions of both reality and the album. Some days, songs may have one effect on the listener, and on others, they arouse a completely different beast from within. Such is the comprehensive emotional effect of DAMIERA’s first full-length album. Music critics and casual listeners alike may argue this is the elitist, progressive, or indie fan’s album of 2007, and they wouldn’t be wrong once the word gets out about this CD. DAMIERA reach out to every listener in a different way, and as a result, have produced a thoroughly enjoyable CD for fans of all music.

INDIE-ROCK. This is where the story has brought us, to the moment DAMIERA defeated their greatest challenge through hard work and sacrifice and are preparing to set sail on a comparatively smooth sea, armed with an impressive debut that brings to mind the progressive tones of AT THE DRIVE-IN, the prancing guitars of MINUS THE BEAR, complex layers of FARAQUET and the compelling melodies of BRAID. Not only does the record, which resounds with the ever-relevant themes of sacrifice, self-discovery and change, reveal an exceptionally talented band with a singular and clear vision, but it represents the human capacity for accomplishment.

HARDCORE. "kingdom of lost souls" comes roaring at you out of the gates like a panzer tank doing 80. Thick, dense, dark, and incredibly powerful, these 10 tracks were cut at the legendary Inner Ear Studios with Don Zientara (Fugazi, Bad Brains) at the helm. If DAMNATION A.D. music is like an armored assault vehicle, then McTernan's voice is a flame thrower. Brutally honest and compelling lyrics with a vocal style that can only be described as apocalyptic. The overwhelming production, the matured, dynamic songwriting, and the nightmarish lyrics and vocals make this record a truly exhausting listening experience. Colored (blue) vinyl includes a digital download card.

HARDCORE. DANMUSH is an absolutely ass kicking all-woman band from Tokyo Japan that play completely furious hardcore! "from here" contains 7 songs ranging in speed from fast paced Japanese hardcore to full blown hundred mile an hour insanity. DANMUSH is made up of members with pasts in GAIA and SINK, so you know they know how to lay the fucking hammer down. Fumio the bass player is one of the most popular artists in hardcore doing covers for PAINTBOX, DEATHSIDE, SLIGHT SLAPPERS, SHIKABANE, HELLNATION and more.

SINGER/SONGWRITER. On "what was once is by and gone", it's still easy to see SWINHIN' UTTERS frontman DARIUS KOSKI's masterful hand guiding each of the songs, but you can see the mark of artists such as THE KINKS, LEONHARD COHEN and even the dark, unsettling works of NICK CAVE present this time around. KOSKI tells evocative stories that ache forward like a tumbleweed in the wind. KOSKI's work on "what was once is by and gone" feels cinematic, with layers of instruments building a distinct world, using instrumental pieces to shift the album's tone and tenor like a director uses a film score. Vinyl includes a digital download card.

INSTRUMENTAL/POST-ROCK. Take the vaporous fumes from the heavy lilting post-rock from the likes of ISIS and PELICAN and EXPLOSIONS IN THE SKY, splash in a little bit of the psyche ala the Blade Runner soundtrack and you’re still only touching the surface of DATURAH’s creative impetus. Hailing from Frankfurt/Germany, this instrumental combo stretch their riffs through audible taffy pulls and seep in crisp and thinly layered synths along with half buried samples to create a listening experience that jolts the senses. They may rock their instrumental guile a bit heavy at times but it’s all weaved into a trance-inducing and ambient sojourn into a vivid panorama of love, fear and anger exhibiting.

PROGRESSIVE/INDIE-ROCK. DAVENPORT CABINET, originally started under the name English Panther, is the self produced solo project of COHEED & CAMBRIA guitarist Travis Stever. Musically, DAVENPORT CABINET imports nearly as many influences as Stever's now legendary record collection: LEONARD COHEN to DINOSAUR JR to NEIL YOUNG to MOJAVE 3. Stever admits his music takes him to better places and times, as he waxes melancholy to simple melodies. "Nostalgia in stereo" is bound to make your life a little simpler, at least on the ears.

INDIE/EMO-PUNK. With hardcore credentials including spending time in bands like WITH HONOR, AMBITIONS and DEFEATER, the members of Boston's DAYBREAKER set out to break from the mold of run-of-the-mill melodic punk bands, not only drawing influence from the bands like THE GASLIGHT ANTHEM but also acoustic, indie of RYAN ADAMS while remaining punk-rock at the core.

INDIE/EMO-ROCK. DAYTRADER writes hard-hitting, heartfelt songs in the vein of JIMMY EAT WORLD, SUNNY DAY REAL ESTATE, SAVES THE DAY and HOT WATER MUSIC. Drawing from the best aspects of turn-of-the-century pop, punk and emo, DAYTRADER crafts each song into an exciting, unique experience. Vinyl comes with a gatefold-cover and includes a digital download card.

HARDCORE. DEAD ICONS is a hardcore band from Kentucky. They weren't from a prominent city in the hardcore scene, didn't have a friend in a popular hardcore band, or have any members of any past notable bands. But nestled like a needle in a haystack, "condemned is" a sharp-edged record of gritty hardcore sprinkled ith breakdowns and adrenaline-fueled verses of genuine hardcore fare. It isn’t a re-invention of the genre by any means, but in the afterthoughts of listening to this album, DEAD ICONS seem more than capable of writing respectable hardcore with biting lyricism that picks up the trail of hardcore legends TERROR more often than not.

EMO/ALTERNATIVE-ROCK. On their 3rd full-length release, DEAD POETIC are beginning to embrace classic rock 'n' roll and '90s alternative-rock and throw that into the mix with their heavier, screamier sound they used on "new medicines". Think about SAINTS AND SIBNNERS, or about the involvement of producer Aaron Sprinkle (Pedro The Lion, Anberlin) or the DEFTONES. "vices" is anything but screamo. "Vices" owes more to STONE TEMPLE PILOTS and PEARL JAM than whichever "scene" bands have skipped the VFW Halls and gone straight to the mainstream. Sure, DEAD POETIC's breakout album "New medicines" evidenced touches of the now over-played sound. But DEAD POETIC has always evolved. "vices" reflects their strongest evolution yet.
