HARDCORE. "we are nothing" features some of VIOLENT MINDS fastest tracks to date. Straight forward hardcore stripped of polish - just raw distorted hardcore delivered at high velocity. Plagued by countless setbacks in the last two years, VIOLENT MINDS are now back. Fans of early American hardcore like NEGATIVE APPROACH, POISON IDEA etc. and dirty hardcore-punk from the UK take notice. CD compiles the tracks from the "just kicked in" 7" as well!

HARDCORE. Originally conceived and executed as a one-man project by Tom Pimlott on the banks of the Mersey River in Liverpool, England, VIOLENT REACTION recorded a demo in 2011, an 7" in 2012 and an LP for Painkiller Records in 2013. Soon after, Tom relocated to Leeds to assemble a full band with an end result that finds the lads playing straight-edge, hardcore with an obvious oi-punk influence. Colored (green) vinyl includes a digital download card.

POST/EMO-PUNK. VIOLENT SOHO, a four-piece from Brisbane, Australia, has been at it since 2004. Following 2010's self-titled album, which featured the energetic highs that made MUDHONEY and NIRVANA so exhilarating. "hungry ghost" is an unapologetic, post-grunge cacophony. The result is an album chock full of fuzzy, tumbling riffs: the throat-tearing "yeahyeahyeahyeah", the grungy rock 'n' roll power and splitting anger. "hungry ghost" - it's intelligent, melodic and dripping with attitude.

HARDCORE. Eight tracks of brain throbbing annoyance that will draw the line in the sand between the real deal hardcore youth and all the other ironic moshers, noise losers, and various other butter users. Do you know THE BRAINBOMBS, THE FUCKINn' FLYIN' A-HEADS, THE SICKNESS or KILSLUG? Then you already know VIOLENT STUDENTS. Best band from Philly since CIRCLE OF SHIT.

HARDCORE. Rampaging fast hardcore in the style of LIF'S HALT, DEMON SYSTEM 13, TEAR IT UP. The blazing speed and power are broken here and there by charged up heavy riffs that show guitarist Marcs longstanding inspiration from '70s hard-rock. While there are a lot of bands mixing '70s rock and hardcore right now VITAMIN X does so in a fashion that doesn't tone down or slow down their high energy hardcore attack. The burly rock riffs merely add to the tension and power of the thrash onslaught to come.

HARDCORE. After two 7"s on Commitment, one 7" on Havoc and a full-length on Underestimated, Amsterdam's VITAMIN X busted out with their fastest hardest material. "down the drain" is the 2nd full-length by this hyperactive Dutch hardcore band. They've moved from youth-crew style to a more fast hardcore sound similar to DEMON SYSTEM 13 or LIFE'S HALT. Great political lyrics and high energy hardcore.

HARDCORE. Tokyo, Japan-based VIVISICK drop their ravenous 2nd full-length via Tank Crimes Records. Twenty years into their existence, Japan's VIVISICK offer up a new album of blazing fastcore in the form of "nuked identity". The 10-track bruiser and follow-up to 2008's blazing "respect and hate" long player was tracked at Sonic Band Studio in Tokyo and boasts 23min. of deliciously manic hardcore doused in boisterous singalongs, melody and wackiness for fans of THE STALIN and traditional Japcore. Vinyl includes a digital download card.

PROGRESSIVE-METAL. Early recording from legendary Canadian metal innovators. "to the death 84" is 70min. of loud, blistering progressive-metal. Recorded live in the band's jam space in January 1984 with an old tape recorder and a couple of microphones, it nonetheless sounds great and hits as hard today as it did back then. The track listing includes songs from "war and pain", their debut album, and 6 others, including a MERCYFUL FATE cover and 2 VENOM covers. This recording did its job: soon the underground world was aware of this strange vampire warlord from the cold-VOIVOD.

POST-ROCK. It's been 4 years since the 1st VOLCANO CHOIR album, "unmap", provided a glimpse into the collaborative mindset between a singer and a band that inspired him. Pull the life from the record and share it with tiny segments of the world. "repave" brings VOLCANO CHOIR into sharp focus. The glitch-laden, cautious presentation of the band's previous work serves as points of both reference and departure across these eight songs, the product of growing conviction and trust, of a fully-operational rock band, gifted in shading and nuance, and rumbling with power. Vinyl includes a digital download card.

POST-ROCK. Justin Vernon of BON IVER collabs with COLLECTIONS OF COLONIES OF BEES to create his new side project VOLCANO CHOIR. With influences ranging from DAVID SYLVIAN and STEVE REICH to MAHALIA JACKSON and TOM WAITS, it might be more accurate to say the group's influence is music itself. You can hear it in the care and real love generously applied to each moment of "unmap". With the vibe of some intimate backwoods gospel, plus a spirit of patience and thoughtful repetition, the music of VOLCANO CHOIR is as dynamic as it is lovely.

HARDCORE. Indecision Records has once again laid their claim to a hardcore supergroup. Featured are John Pettibone (UNDERTOW, HIMSA), Chris Williams (CHAMPION), Aram Arslanian (CHAMPION, BETRAYED), Ryan Murphy (UNDERTOW, TEN YARD FIGHT, ENSIGN), and Rob Moran (UNBROKEN, OVER MY DEAD BODY and SOME GIRLS). This debut is made up of 4 tracks of fast, positive hardcore proving that the passion for hardcore is still alive within these individuals.

HARDCORE. WACO FUCK’s debut full-length "paranoia is total awareness" shows the band moving their malicious grinding power-violence assault in a decidedly more midpaced hardcore direction while retaining the terse urgency of their previous 7"s '80s hardcore such as BATTALION OF SAINTS, MDC and DISCHARGE blends with '90s favorites like FILTH and STATE OF FEAR while hard as nails INFEST riffage and the occasional blast thrown in for good measure gives the album an undeniable momentum. As the title suggests, an obsession with conspiracy theories and contempt for the military industrial complex sets a powerful tone for the album. The CD version features bonus tracks from their 2 out-of-print 7"s.

SXE-HARDCORE. WAIT IN VAIN has emerged in the northwest as one of the most dynamic bands in the hardcore scene today. Fronted by Timm McIntosh, formerly of TRIAL and CHAMPION, WAIT IN VAIN has a voice that has been a part of the uprising, continuation and return of Seattle straight-edge hardcore. Lyrically, the band unleashes an intelligent onslaught of messages covering many social and political issues with an emphasis on self-reliance and a need for action toward an uncaring world.

CRUST-HARDCORE. Heavily percussion driven this band layers a cacophony of influences to create a driving and haunting release. This is what you want to be listening to as you drive on dark country roads. To add to the band’s original sound they have even welcomed the addition of a cello player on this recording. Recorded at the Jam Room down south (Damad, Kylesa etc.) and features cover art from Jeremy Clark (Slug & Lettuce). This is a monumental release!

HARDCORE. There are few bands than can write a 2min. song that incorporates every element of metal/hardcore that we all love... but WALLS OF JERICHO do just that. Speed, crunch, anger, emotion, melodies, singalongs, and spine-tingling aggression consolidate to form Detroit's most lethal breed of heavy hitters. WALLS OF JERICHO cannot be categorized, they are unstoppable, and Candace's relentlessly heart stopping vocals will have you at her mercy.
