STREET/FOLK-PUNK. Featuring a diverse and insanely talented roster of musicians, THE he REAL MCKENZIES draw on both acoustic and electric instruments to blend a potent concoction of classic punk, rock 'n' roll and traditional Celtic influence. Blistering punk-rock boot stompers stand alongside passionate singalong ballads while good times and joyous camaraderie are always the order of the day. Their latest offering, "westwinds", is packed to the brim with roaring, rollicking, and epic tales that shanghai the listener on a 13 song, sea-tossed journey. Vinyl includes a digital download card.

METALCORE. After an independently released MCD, Albany, NY's RECON present their debut full-length of 11 punishing tracks packed to the gills with breakdowns, not unlike ACACIA STRAIN, EMMURE and BURY YOUR DEAD. "Welcome to viper city" is a powerhouse record which includes guest vocals from the vocalists of ACACIA STRAIN and SKINLESS. RECON were able to create the album they dreamed of. 2008 will be the year of the snake, watch out.

EMO-PUNK-ROCK. RED CITY RADIO's sophomore full-length album, "titles", was recorded with the pressure of following up a beloved debut record. RED CITY RADIO responded with 10 tracks that expand upon the punk structure they built with "the dangers of standing still". The band grows in different directions, at times becoming grittier while in other cases sprawling out into new territory.

PUNK-ROCK. The RED DONS are the continuation of THE OBSERVERS. After members abruptly left the band in 2005, THE OBSERVERS' lead singer teamed up with some other guys (member from CLOROX GIRLS as well) and re-named this new line-up RED DONS. "death to idealism" is the group's 1st full-length album, and is perfect for fans of THE VICIOUS, NO HOPE FOR THE KIDS, CLOROX GIRLS, and of course THE OBSERVERS. As to be expected, this record stays in tune with the melancholy, melodic, and sometimes unpredictable punk sounds of THE OBSERVERS.

PUNK-ROCK. RED DONS (contains former/current members of CLOROX GIRLS, BORN/DEAD, SODA POP KIDSm PHYSICAL CHALLENGE) successfully develops their unique style even further. Coded lyrics about vagabond characters moving back and forth between the lines of the current climate of fear and suspicion that has been brought upon the USA by the war on terror. Again, consistent songwriting and a great production make this record stand out among the current competition. Combining TSOL-like vocals, So-Cal punk rage, and the defiant melancholy of Northwesterners like the WIPERS. This powerful release rises above the stack of contemporaries that take on the early '80s punk sound. No retro fashion hype, no flavor of the month.

HARDCORE-PUNK. RED HANDED's debut full-length is 14 tracks full of raging, pissed off hardcore-punk from the San Francisco Bay-Area. Following in the footsteps of THE NERVE AGENTS and OUTBREAK, this band combines a similar formula of raw hardcore riffs, punk-rock rhythm, and angry vocals. It's no secret that these guys love BLACK FLAG, early '80s hardcore, and all things Dischord, and this album after an outstanding 7" is the evidence. Stay tuned; this is the next generation of Bay-Area hardcore-punk.

POST/EMO-HARDCORE. Consider "nites of midnite" by RED HARE, which is basically 3/4 of the guys from SWIZ, one of D.C.’s lesser-known but still beloved bands from the '80s. If you go looking for the old SWIZ energy you’ll find it, especially in vocalist Shawn Brown’s voice, which still appealingly straddles the line between growly and enunciative. If you go looking for something relatively fresh, you might find it in the drumming by Joe who played in GARDEN VARIETY in the ’90s. New pressing on blue vinyl with updated cover artwork includes a digital download card.

METALCORE. RED I FLIGHT come storming out of Detroit with their scathing debut record, "the years". The style is a mixture of metal, metalcore, and a healthy dose of hardcore creating a sound that is not a stranger to any, yet not really welcome in any one. They are most likely to be labeled as either metalcore or post-hardcore. There are plenty of heavy, abrasive riffs, pummeling breakdowns and furious vocals fashion the blueprint of this intense and energetic band.

CD 3.00€*

POST-ROCK/INSTRUMENTAL. Comprised of members of ISIS and ANGEL HAIR, RED SPAROWS' sweeping guitar orchestrations thrive unbound by narrative, reliant on the merits and strength of their power alone. "the fear is excruciating, but therein lies the answer" serves as a conduit where limitless amounts of imagery can reside within the grandiose scope of the quintet's lush symphonic vignettes.

CD 14.50€*

SXE-HARDCORE. "the hourglass end" is the debut offering from Salt Lake City's straight-edge outfit REFLECT. Part of the current trend of mid '90s influenced hardcore bands, they play very competently and with tons of passion. With vocals both screamed and spoken softly, they bring to mind the hardcore of yore such as 108, UNBROKEN, TRIAL and even BANE.

CD 11.00€*

POST-HARDCORE. REFUSED is fucking alive. There's no escape. The iconic Swedish hardcore band is releasing "freedom", their 1st album in 17 years. In 1998, REFUSED released their iconic album "the shape of punk to come". It was also the year that the band broke up and declared "refused are fucking dead". "freedom" explodes out of the speakers with opening track "elektra", as vocalist Dennis Lyxzen's throat-shredding declaration that "nothing has changed" catapults REFUSED into the 21st century. Vinyl includes a digital download card.

POST-HARDCORE. A pure classic. Revolutionary at its time and still redefining and challenging over a decade after its original release, Refused created an album that calls the spirit of hardcore, punk and politics into question through an open and confrontational opus. On "the shape of punk to come", complex rhythms, hardcore rage, political activism and a dose of experimental sonic atmospherics, all smashed together to create a seamless ball of energy.

CD 11.50€*

POST-HARDCORE. REGENTS is a stunning collective of D.C. hardcore scene vets. Their collective band credits are enough to stagger any '90s hardcore, punk and emo fan. These groups include FRODUS, BATTERY, SLEEPYTIME TRIO, THURSDAY, MEN'S RECOVERY PROJECT etc. members. The band’s debut, "antietam after party", is a strong and arty take on the kind of aggressive, discordant hardcore that’s making a comeback. REGENTS packs razor-sharp, spindly guitar riffs, meaty, rumbling bass lines; pummeling drumming with a touch of swing; and scalding vocal squawks into the mix. Vinyl version includes a digital download card.

HARDCORE-PUNK. REGRESS was a band from Chicago featuring some scene veterans from LIFE SENTENCE. They continue to bring up the serious issues that plagued us back in the '80s and continue to be plague us today like nationalism, affordable living, and religion. This is some great Reagan era style hardcore. “nuclear bomb” is a tribute to DISCHARGE, but their music for the most part sounds like ADRENALIN O.D. with a CRIPPLED YOUTH style crew on back up vocals. Instead of the material coming from kids trying to re-create an ideal, this is authentic '80s hardcore written recently.

MCD 4.00€*

HARDCORE. Hot off the heels of their recently re-released demo 7", Minneapolis' REGRET hit the studio and recorded these 6 tracks of heavy and emotional hardcore. With influences from bands like UNBROKEN, MODERN LIFE IS WAR and THE HOPE CONSPIRACY mixing with the lyrical intenseness.

MCD 6.50€*
