HARDCORE. From the birthplace of hardcore, DC's LION OF JUDAH prove they owe just as much to "i against i" - era BAD BRAINS as they do to early FUGAZI. Formed in late 2004, LION OF JUDAH delivers their musically and lyrically thought-provoking debut "soul power". Sticking to their DC roots of musical creativity and political aesthetics, LION OF JUDAH shines amongst the sea of mindless and boring modern hardcore acts.

HARDCORE. LION OF JUDAH is a group from the D.C. area that is part of that growing legion. Having formed in ’04, LION OF JUDAH features ex-members of NO JUSTICE, WORN THIN, and DESPERATE MEASURES and is a classic example of the old-school hardcore sound of DC. Blistering guitar attack in the vein of BAD BRAINS and MINOR THREAT with loud aggressive punk drums and a sound that only a DC native can truly capture. In June LION OF JUDAH returned to Inner Ear to record this 11 track debut full-length "universal peace".

INDIE/ALTERNATIVE-ROCK. From the very start of "tropical jinx", it's clear there is nothing little about the band or this, their 2nd full-length album. The brutally honest lyrics of guitarist/vocalist Michelle Zauner are one of the album's undeniable high points: the confessions and confrontations about dealing with family life, relationships and personal failure are both relatable and cathartic. This album is an homage to the best moments of alternative-rock with the spirit of Philadelphia d.i.y.. Colored vinyl includes a digital download card.

HARDCORE. LIVING HELL has been a force in New England hardcore for over 3 years. Their unique sound is the antithesis of modern hardcore, bringing the music back to the roots of the movement; blistering riffs, laced with depression, anxiety and unparalleled anger. "oblivion", LIVING HELL's 2nd album, is a clear and definitive progression from their debut record, "the lost and the damned". Combining hardcore, thrash and a hint of black-metal, "oblivion" is truly a unique and moving record. For fans of INTEGRITY, RINGWORM, RISE & FALL and PULLING TEETH.

CRUST-HARDCORE. Reaching out from Bergen, Norway, LIVSTID spent years perfecting the most conservative and uniform genre of today: d-beat hardcore. LIVSTID carry the heritage of bands like MOTÖRHEAD, DISCHARGE and WOLFPACK, nailing the most minute micro-details in rhythm and riffing. They have created a monsterous archetype of power which can now be witnessed on their self titled debut. In the run of the 16 tracks on the album, classic political lyrical themes are covered, but the album also go deep into individual and personal themes.

POST-HARDCORE/METAL. Copenhagen's LLNN return with their sophomore album, "deads", which evades all the pitfalls of the sophomore slump. "deads" is an erosive, abrasive, dystopian, apocalyptic monolith of monstrous dimensions: more compact, yet more complex and organic all at the same time. LLNN have now perfected the amalgamization of the stringed instruments section with dominant '80s Sci-Fi movie-esque synth layers.

POST-HARDCORE/METAL. "loss", which was recorded live in the studio, sounds so dense and overwhelming that it's surprising to learn that LLNN are a fairly new band, formed in Copenhagen in 2014 - but the members are veterans in the local hardcore and metal scene. The true power of heaviness lies in simplicity: in reducing a musical idea to its (hard)core, to its essence, rather than overloading songs with trivial details that would only blur the mix. One of the unexpected and outstanding elements on "loss" are the apocalyptic wave-synths, which take you on a journey back in time, back past NEUROSIS' "souls at zero" era into the early '80s. If your into early AMEN RA, CULT OF LUNA, COALESCE and even TRAGEDY - listen to LLNN.

POST-HARDCORE/METAL. Copenhagen's LLNN have created a bleak soundtrack to a cinematic, post-apolocalyptic landscape. Tightly-woven sonic fabric that these 4 young Danes create has been critically acclaimed throughout the European press landscape. WOVOKA's musical volleys are both panoramically expansive and crushingly claustrophobic. Emerging from a near 2-year slumber since debut album "saros" saw the light of day, WOVOKA are contributing a single 18min. opus to this album, continuing right where LLNN have left off.

PROGRESSIVE-HARDCORE. LLYNCH from Germany lay down some more darker and more atmospheric heavy bass driven tunes. LLYNCH provide 4 songs on "transition songs" which showcases an interesting mixture of atmosphere and metal eruption which is built by musical arrangements focusing on the rise of musical tension. As for comparisons, LLYNCH sound like BOTCH meeting KISS IT GOODBYE at points. MCD contains the songs from their split LP with MINOR TIMES plus a multimedia part and video material.

HARDCORE. This release is a concept album that expresses personal experiences, daily struggles, adventures and friendships through a positive outlook balanced by an aggressive approach. The adventurous and aggressive feel is conveyed by a pirate theme, while the sound includes fast, groovy bits, two-step and mosh breakdowns, choruses that resemble COMEBACK KID, HAVE HEART and vocal arrangements similar to SICK OF IT ALL.

CD 9.00€*

POST/GRIND-HARDCORE. THE LOCUST has been throwing up in the face of conventional music since 1995, when the band formed from the pieces of San Diego hardcore stalwarts SWING KIDS and STRUGGLE. The songs are fast, usually under a minute, atrociously ultra-violent and drenched in sci-fi-noise, gruesome keyboards and herky jerky, bestial scream/sing vocals. "new erections" is THE LOCUST's follow-up to their acclaimed Epitaph debut "plague soundscapes".

LOGH's 3rd full-length and first for Hydra Head brings to mind a melancholic mix of such greats as SONIC YOUTH, MOGWAI, and LOW. In September 2004, the band recorded "a sunset panorama" in a studio with Pelle Gunnerfeldt (producer of the Hives etc.).

LOGH filters the finest elements of indie-rock, poetic tone and intelligible songwriting through a Nordic perspective and into a record that pulses, swells and sighs with effortless synergy. "the raging sun" brings to mind a melancholic mix of such greats as SONIC YOUTH, LOW and MOGWAI.

INSTRUMENTAL/PROGRESSIVE-METAL. Instru-metal/progressive act LOINCLOTH formed following the demise of death/doom act CONFESSOR and were joined by members of BREADWINNER and HONNOR ROLE to round out the lineup. Punishing riffs and a mean rhythm section were all they were interested in - no acoustic parts, no pointless leads, no repetition and no vocals! To them, metal was getting punched in the face by sinister riffs while a tight rhythm section kicked them with counter-beats to the gut! Thick 180gr vinyl.
