DOOM/SLUDGE-METAL. Heavy as fuck, these guys from Hagen/Germany love to worship SABBATH. Influenced from the classics of both metal and hardcore, UNION OF SLEEP blend the two together seamlessly while throwing in some good old fashioned stoner/doom and of course a whole bunch of rock 'n' roll. Sometimes they rock out like shit, but still keep the pace slow. A genre of riffs, with grate and dirt, spit, all taken into directions, angles, and awkward spaces. Rhythm and bass that flows like a rolling river, sometimes rapid, sometimes heavy, thick, and melodic, but always moving forward. These albums are laden with vocals that can haunt, entrance, or enrage, with angry lyrics and very low attitude. This record contains 4 brandnew songs as well as 4 songs from their 1st demo (re-mastered). If you love relentless heavy music, dirty and loud - this full-length is for you! LP comes with 350gr thick inside-out cover, and inlay. For fans of SLEEP or DOOMRIDERS. Be afraid, be in awe - UNION OF SLEEP is a journey worth taking. [PK 048]

DOOM/SLUDGE-METAL/PROGRESSIVE-METAL. First of all - this is not a record for speed fanatics - both bands like it slowl. UNION OF SLEEP from Hagen/Berlin should be known for their previous full-length releases. If you dig really groovy, down-tuned sludgy doom-metal, then look no further. If the likes of BUZZOVEN, FUDGE TUNNEL or 16 make you excited, then UNION OF SLEEP won't disappoint. Their 4 tracks have the right amount of rocking catchiness, heavy southern boogie, blues riffs and gruff booze drenched vocals. They're mainly mid tempo-ish but contain plenty of left hand turns to keep your interest - a hard-hitting riff festival over all. Denver, Colorado's quartett BLACK SLEEP OF KALI are by no means a retro band. They deliver 4 pulverising, uncompromising songs, with aggressive groovy riffs, post-metal aesthetics and influence minus the monotony within this genre. Their hybrid of post- and progressive-metal constantly balances a tightrope between mid '90s apocalyptic NEUROSIS' "times of grace" era and modern progressive-metal on a par with MASTODON, BARONESS, or HIGH ON FIRE. Each of the songs are a carefully woven collection of massive riffs that flow - BLACK SLEEP OF KALI know what they’re doing. Both bands have done an impressive job of adopting several aforementioned genres. There’s really no filler to be found here. All of the tracks are knockouts. LP comes with eyecatching artwork, thick inside-out cover, black innersleeve, lyricsheet and includes a digital download card. [PK #055]

HARDCORE. 2010 brings the release of "never mind the bombings, here's your six gigures", the 2nd alleged release from UNITED NATIONS. "never mind.." is a spastic and violent 4 song explosion that brings to mind the bygone days of the mid '90s screamo sub-genre. A poignant musical missile meant to sink today's safe and predictable musical establishment. Colored 7" includes a digital download card.

HARDCORE. Originally released in 2008, UNITED NATIONS' eponymous debut album was destined for commercial controversy from the moment it was announced. The anticipation surrounding its release was at a fever pitch as rumors circulated that the enigmatic band's all-star lineup included members of THURSDAY, GLASSJAW and CONVERGE. When the album finally dropped, its lawsuit-baiting artwork - essentially the original cover of THE BEATLES' "abbey road" album, with all of the Beatles engulfed in flames - immediately forced at least one major mall retail chain to destroy all of the several thousands of copies it had ordered. The album's entire pressing was then recalled, destroyed and repackaged. The vinyl has been out-of-print ever since. "united nations" has been remastered for this special deluxe vinyl edition and includes an infinite bonus track. The original "banned" artwork has been restored to its litigious glory, now expanded to include the previously unreleased panels to complete the original triptych - all printed on a massive full-color, foldout poster. Vinyl includes a digital download card.

HARDCORE. Originally conceived as a frenetic side project of members of THURSDAY, GLASSJAW and CONVERGE, UNITED NATIONS' membership and ideology has evolved into a full-time flagship for incendiary chaos. Their lineup overhauled to include members of PIANOS BECOME THE TEETH and picking up where their "never mind the bombings" 7" left off, this album expands on their already caustic sound with an even greater sense of urgency and aggression. It's a furious homage to the pioneers of punk and scorching critique on the current state of punk. Colored vinyl includes a digital download card plus 1 additional track.

HARDCORE. Another fast thrashing hardcore record from Wisconsin's U.S.V.. The music is fast and furious but all the weird movie sound bites add a sense of comedy to the approach, but the U.S.V. lyrical content is quite good. This is a good record, and everyone who likes D.S.-13 or CODE 13 is going to like this as well. Thrash on!

HARDCORE. Manchester, UK hardcore unit UNJUST releases their debut 7" "transparency", ramping up the ferocity factor since their demo, channeling BROTHERHOOD and CONFRONT vibes with plenty of pit-friendly, mid-tempo beats between blasting verses. Members of INSIST rage unapologetically about the straight-edge, with the kind of bold call-to-action lyrics that make you get up in the morning with a positive spring in your step, ready to take on this sick, sad world. HARDCORE. A loud and noisy fury of raw punk attack from Vancouver. Vocals distorted in anguish and a wall of guitars tweaked to ear splitting frequencies held down with an impressive d-beat attack. Future releases include a split 7" with KRUEL and a self-titled LP in September. This one is over in a flash, so prepare for the most pummeling 8min. of your day.

DEATH-METAL. The Swedish death-metallers of UNLEASHED are back one more time with an album of great Scandinavian death-metal. "hammer battalion" is a really good album which follows the spirit of "midvinterblot". The trademark of the band is the excellent Swedish riffs, with those little black-metal elements, followed by mid-tempo drumming, making their music identifiable by anyone that listens to the first notes. "hammer battalion" is full of great songs and must be considered as a real and unique album of viking death-metal. "hammer battalion" is a must for the metalheads who like death and metal from the North.

HARDCORE/METAL. It would be easy, and not inaccurate, to describe UNREAL CITY simply as a heavy hardcore band featuring current and former members of ETERNAL SLEEP, INTEGRITY, KIM PHUC, and more. Although still in the realm of their previous work, this is clearly a band that has no intention of resting on the laurels of their associated acts list. By incorporating subtle melodic elements and classic metal solos, they have crafted a record that has such incredible depth and scope. Colored vinyl is limited to 500 copies and includes a digital download card.

CRUST/GRIND-HARDCORE. UNREST is just pure brutal force and annihilation constantly smacking your head against a wall. This LP is a ferocious blow to the kidneys: fast, dark and energetic. UNREST manages it to take the the raw power from scandi-crust bands like SKITSYSTEM, MARTYRDÖD or early WOLFPACK mixing it with the lethal force of grindcore acts like AFGRUND, NASUM or EXTREME NOISE TERROR but still keeping their own style in ways of songwriting and riffing. You even find short guitar solos mixed in the most brutal riffs you’ve probably heard in years. "lake of misery" has been produced at the Tonmeisterei and the production is flawless. The guitars just grind their way into your ears, the bass sound would also be good for a speaker test. So deep and thunderous. The drums are attacky as fuck and played with skill and haste. The voice finalizes the pure brutality. Guttural and straight from the throat that makes you feel like you still can taste the blood on your tongue. Vinyl comes with inside-out cover, black innersleeve, lyricsheet and includes a digital download card. If you always wondered how an atomic bomb dropped on your head feels, here you go. [PK 056]
