HARDCORE-PUNK. "salad days: a decade of punk in washington, dc (1980-90)" examines the early diy-punk scene in the Nation's Capital. It was a decade when seminal bands like BAD BRAINS, MINOR THREAT, GOVERNMENT ISSUE, SCREAM, VOID, FAITH, RITES OF SPRING, MARGINAL MAN, FUGAZI and others released their own records and booked their own shows - without major record label constraints or mainstream media scrutiny. Contextually, it was a cultural watershed that predated the alternative music explosion of the 1990s (and the industry's subsequent implosion) - 30 years later, DC's original diy-punk spirit serves as a reminder of the hopefulness of youth, the power of community and the strength of conviction.

PUNK-ROCK. THE SALTEENS were a band that existed in the mid to late '90s in Minneapolis, who's only ever proper release were 2 show-stealing songs on the "no slow…all go" compilation. They recorded the 5 songs for this 7?, which has been planned and/or rumored to come out on numerous labels over the years, and then promptly broke up. Members went on to (or were already involved in) THE SOVIETTES, THE GATEWAY DISTRICT, CLEVELAND BOUND DEATH SENTENCE and THE STRIKE, but this record completely stands firmly on it's own two feet. Colored vinyl is limited to 300 copies and includes a digital download card.

HARDCORE. The 2nd LP by Pennsylvania's SALVATION finds their sound sunk to the bottom of a mental abyss. Jettisoning all peripheral elements from previous efforts, what remains is a stark and minimal presentation with vocals so ferocious that, when combined with the controlled bleeding of the riff structures, erects an aural tension that is nearly unbearable. Recorded by Will Killingsworth at Dead Air studios to deliver maximum volume impact. This edition features a lavish single pocket gatefold sleeve and fold-out poster that showcase artist/vocalist Matt Adis' incredible ink renderings and lyrics, pressed on colored vinyl.

HARDCORE-PUNK. This LP compiles the very earliest recordings of New Jersey’s SAND IN THE FACE. The demos, largely recorded at NJ’s Mix-o-Lydian Studios, features the band’s pre-LP line-up. SAND IN THE FACE were one of the 1st wave of New Jersey’s hardcore bands, and contemporaries with the likes of ADRENALIN O.D. and BEDLAM. Musically, it’s disaffected suburban teenage thrash of the best variety. If you’re familiar with the likes of Buy Our Records or Mutha Records, you know the pedigree. Limited to a one-time pressing of 600 copies.

GRINDCORE. This is the 1st recording of SANDOKHAN, whose members play(ed) in some other grind-bands before. Sometimes they slow down, playing some neat blastbeat, just to regain the highspeed again. And yet you get the impression of some melody and recognition value within the 13 songs that they finish in 7min! KRUPSKAYA from the UK released a couple records previous. They impress again with a very unique style of extreme music. The riffing reaches from ultra fast shredding to noisy interludes with dissonant melodies that never lack of the right portion groove. One of the best and most innovative grindcore bands nowadays.

INDUSTRIAL/NOISE. SANFORD PARKER is the reputed producer and electronics wrangler behind some of metal’s most exploratory outfits, breaking new territory in his work as a fixture of BURIED AT SEA, MINSK, CORRECTIONS HOUSE and MIRRORS FOR PSYCHIC WARFARE. Now, PARKER is striking out on his own with "lash back", a full-length record of mechanical, dystopic, beat-driven menace. "lash back" is a marked departure from his metallic legacy, retaining some of the hallmarks of his impressive work to date but moving towards a distilled, gruesome interpretation of the electronic world’s darkest operators like PERC, YOUTH CODE and PHARMAKON.

POST-HARDCORE. SANGHARSHA is a band consisting of 4 guys from Nepal with one motive to realize who they are and what they want to become in life and it’s existence. As the word SANGHARSHA means "struggle". They currently reside in NYC and music wise SANGHARSHA is for friends and followers from Bands like CONVERGE, MASAKARI, CAVE IN and others. The technical mastery is mind-blowing, as is the way they manage to squeeze in brutal melodies and hooks. The vocal lines seem to be woven into the guitars. Tracks overlap and echo. When they slow things down to a momentary crawl, it’s like a chair’s been pulled out from behind you. "bayou" picks all of that up gorgeously. Thick 180gr vinyl comes with printed heavy innersleeve and heavy gatefold-cover.

POST-ROCK/AMBIENT. SANKT OTTEN's 4th album sees the duo’s sound evolving once again, while retaining the undeniable hallmarks of atmosphere, melodic dexterity and depth. “morgen wieder lustig” employs stacks of luscious synthesizers, with knowing nods to fellow Germans KRAFTWERK. While their early sonic experiments explored the brooding and frayed edges of ambient, post-rock and jazz, these new songs push this relationship to a new level. "morgen wieder lustig" shifts from the head-rush ambience to dark and twisted post-jazz or drags you on a melancholic sc-fi odyssey.
