GARAGE-PUNK-ROCK. SAD NEUTRINO BITCHES come from Jena, Germany and play trashy, frantic, treble-prone punk-rock. Influenced by american garage-punk like GORIES, OBLIVIANS and many punk bands like DWARVES, HENRY FIATS OPEN SORE, BLACK LIPS, EAGLES OF DEATH METAL, ZEKE or DEAN DIRG. The songs are about being ugly, being pissed, being not clever or too sad to fuck. Limited re-press in colored vinyl.

HARDCORE-PUNK. Southern Ontario’s SADIE & THE WIVES take a violent approach to classic hardcore and bring out a whole new level of intensity in raw-punk. Their debut 7” demo holds nothing back as they frantically squeeze out 4 ripping tracks, only settling down to deliver infectious, crawl-mosh fuelling breakdown riffs. They have a sound that’s reminiscent of early '80s hardcore, combined with the sound in the vein of bands like S.H.I.T and GAG. This record is 6min. of pure psychosis, ranging from unhinged d-beat blasts to fist pumping mid-paced riffs, all backed with hate filled vocals that feel like a direct attack on the listener. These kids are the future.

POP-PUNK. Music critics love when pop-punk bands mature, but most loyal listeners hate it since it so often means stepping away from the eternally adolescent genre they love and into territory that may be too new, too different. It's rare, then, that a maturing pop-punk band can satisfy both the music critic and loyal listener, but Ontario, Canada's SAFE TO SAY finds the balance on their 2nd full-length "down in the dark". Colored vinyl includes a download card.

CRUST-HARDCORE. Following up their self released 7" comes a 10 song full-length crusher from the Bay-Area's SAHN MARU. Stripped down d-beat and crust influenced hardcore-punk that is vocally reminiscent of mid era LOGICAL NONSENSE and lyrically and musically, the dark heavyness of HIS HERO IS GONE comes to mind. This is raw and angst-filled crust-hardcore with a hint of the traditional East-Bay flavor. SAHN MARU features members of BLOWN TO BITS and the MURDERERS. Definitely worth to check this one out!

POST/NOISE-PUNK. Some bands implode, but in the aftermath of "turbo 1", this band crushed themselves. Eventually they came back to life in Hamilton, and this hot little number is the result. Mixing part BLACK FLAG, BIG BLACK, MISSION OF BURMA, and CHROME can be a sometimes volatile mix…this is no different. Come on in, the water is scorching hot. You’ve been warned. HARDCORE-PUNK. "salad days: a decade of punk in washington, dc (1980-90)" examines the early diy-punk scene in the Nation's Capital. It was a decade when seminal bands like BAD BRAINS, MINOR THREAT, GOVERNMENT ISSUE, SCREAM, VOID, FAITH, RITES OF SPRING, MARGINAL MAN, FUGAZI and others released their own records and booked their own shows - without major record label constraints or mainstream media scrutiny. Contextually, it was a cultural watershed that predated the alternative music explosion of the 1990s (and the industry's subsequent implosion) - 30 years later, DC's original diy-punk spirit serves as a reminder of the hopefulness of youth, the power of community and the strength of conviction.

HARDCORE/PUNK. How can so many people pledge allegiance to punk, something with no fixed identity? Sam McPheeters championed many different versions. In this collection of essays, profiles, criticism, and personal history, he examines the diverse realms he intersected - New York hardcore, Riot Grrrl, Gilman Street, the hidden enclaves of Olympia, New England, and downtown Los Angeles - and the forces of mental illness and creative inspiration that drove him, and others, in the first place.
