HARDCORE-PUNK. "night parade of 100 demons" is the culmination of a band spending half of a decade perfecting their particular interpretation of the microcosm that is punk. The end result is 11 tracks of violent and destructive commotion that seems to mirror the world that has always surrounded us but is becoming far more apparent as of late. Once again, these freaks of nature achieve their prime objective - bombarding the listener with a relentless barrage of their rust-belt style, noise-drenched hardcore punk... truly an all out aural assault.

INDIE-ROCK. The 8th EELS studio album, "end times", is the sound of an artist growing older in uncertain times. An artist who has lost his great love while struggling with his faith in an increasingly hostile world teetering on selfdestruction. Largely self-recorded on an old four-track tape machine by EELS leader Mark Oliver Everett in his Los Angeles basement, it’s a divorce album with a modern twist: the artist equates his personal loss with the world he lives in losing its integrity. Includes a 4 song bonus 7".

POST/INDIE-ROCK. 2013 marks the 10 year celebration of EF's existence and what better way is there than to celebrate this with the release of their 4th studio album. Their love of melody and harmony alive, carried by heavy rythms, only to be dispersed into a sonic aurora borealis; with improved vocal and orchestral arrangements including more strings, horns, piano and even the use of synthesizers. And, once again given the carefully sculpted mix production by Magnus Lindberg (Cult Of Luna). Double vinyl comes with an outstanding fold-out cover, is hand-numbered and includes a digital download card.

POST/INDIE-ROCK. EF is probably the best post-rock band you’ve never heard. All right, now you’ve just got to read the rest of the review, right? "give me beauty…or give me death" is pretty much everything awesome about the genre, rolled up into a concise and nearly perfect 55min. record. The best way to describe a post-rock band is to compare them to other post-rock bands, and EF have control over the beauty of EXPLOSIONS IN THE SKY and MOGWAI. Unlike many post-rock bands, they use vocals, albeit sparingly - it is pulled off especially well, never overused, timed perfectly to keep songs moving.

POST/INDIE-ROCK. This Swedish quintet showed early on that they had a skill for writing beautifully delicate music, including both classical instruments like cello, organs, and accordion with modern rock instruments, and even some electronics to craft songs so honest in their simplicity, yet treasured for their layers of sound. "i am responsible" is post-rock through and through, from the development of the melodies to the progression of the guitar riffs and tones. EF also lays a little heavier on the vocals with this album, which is a step up from their previous efforts for sure. Edited, remixed and remastered, "i am responsible" has a whole new sound to it. Comes with a bear-remix called “grizzly” by Udo Rabenstein.

POST/INDIE-ROCK. Sweden’s post-rock outfit EF deliever with "mourning golden morning" their 3rd studio release. The band manages to glide effortlessly while still rising and falling, speeding up and slowing down. All this comes to a head when the male/female vocals subtly subdue the song into a dream-like trance before rapidly building up into a barrage led by the percussion. The album's standout is a step furthest into the unknown from what EF are ever so used to. Reminiscent of a less abrasive RUSSIAN CIRCLES and CASPIAN hybrid, fused together with a non-electronica based 65DAYS OF STATIC. EF do the doom and gloom so well that it almost seems nothing but a natural progression.

POST-ROCK. This is finally some new material from Sweden's best post-rock band, EF. Their music oftentimes dwells in spheres of darkness, but a deep love for melody and harmony always shines through their epic compositions. While EF is considered an instrumental band by many, the band has had seldom vocals on all of their albums. TINY FINGERS are the pioneers of the new, thriving psychedelic and experimental-rock scene in Israel! Their music is impossible to pin down and will appeal to fans of post-rock and instrumental music, as well as to people who are into electronic music, or even dubstep!

SXE-HARDCORE. From the 1st breaths on the opening track to the shrill end of the closer, THE EFFORT's most recent offering is a visceral, desperate and personal attack on the American dream. It is clear that the band is filled with an anger that is so perfectly captured in the poignant and timely sonic assault that this Massachusetts quintet deliver. Swift driving melody laced with elusive sharp edges, ala DANGERS, TOUCHE AMORE, THE EFFORT's "wartime citizens" can easily stand tall amongst both relevant contemporaries and revered predecessors.

POST-ROCK. Efrim Manuel Menuck is best known as co-founder of GODSPEED YOU BLACK EMPEROR and leader of THEE SILVER MT. ZION, and member of the VIC CHESNUTT band. Fans of Menuck will be well versed in his highly original and constantly evolving approach to the sound of the electric guitar - a unique combination of short and long analog delays, biting compression and blown-out clouds of pink noise distortion. Perhaps less appreciated is Menuck's work as an inventive signal-bender and soundsculptor, with an overriding commitment to analog processing, tape manipulations, reamping and other iterative strategies.
