the tombs (2011/A389)

human overdose (2013/IRON LUNG)
GRINDCORE. HATRED SURGE has been around for a while but only release a proper LP. Psst, this is the 2nd full-length. During the session the band itself described this recording as "a rhino on pcp". The back-to-basics 3 piece HATRED SURGE sees a much more apparent death-metal influence and manages to retain the grinding violence stylings they are known (and loved) for. Make no mistake, "human overdose" is a menacing, feel-bad kinda trip to say the least. Why say more? Vinyl includes a digital download card.
HATS AND GLASSES
s/t (2008/TEENAGE DISCO BLOODBATH)
INDIE/EMO-ROCK. HATS AND GLASSES play a brand of jangly indie-rock that is as eclectic as it is nostalgic. Recalling the harmonies of THE BEATLES and the raw stomp of THE RAMONES. All 3 members of the band pull their weight sharing lead vocal duties. Add to the mix foot tapping drum patterns, poppy guitar jabs, off-kilter keyboard runs, distorted bass and these Bostonians end up with music that is refreshingly memorable and danceable.
bodies (2015/FYSISK FORMAT)
HARDCORE/METAL. HAUST present "bodies" - their 4th offering as a renewed and reworked band, expanding their black-metal/punk hybrid with elements of psychedelia, hypnotic noise-rock and a ghostly sense of melody. While "bodies" is still has a huge part of of HAUST's trademark raw rudimentary rage, it is also their most complex work to date, fusing nihilism and ambition to show that punk can be more than pure aggression. "bodies" is about breaking boundaries and destroying everything that stands in its way. It is also about sticking together and melting into a collective body. Vinyl includes CD version.
fall (2014/FYSISK FORMAT)
HARDCORE/METAL. An exclusive 7" from the masters of psychedelic punk. the 7" feature the album taster "fall" on the a-side and and a cover of THE BYRD's "lady friend" on the b-side. Silkscreened cover art, inlay and innersleeves.
no (2013/FYSISK FORMAT)
HARDCORE/METAL. Three years after their previous album, HAUST are back with their most raw and primitive release to date: In 9 short tracks the listener is pulled back into a time where rock 'n' roll and punk were synonymous with rawness and vulnerability. After 2 records and splits with OKKULTOKRATI and NEXT LIFE, HAUST were on the verge of decay and dissolve. Full of new ideas and drive, "no" was created in 2 short weeks full of arguing, distrust and rehearsal. Pure and hateful - raw rudimentary rage. Vinyl includes CD version.
powers of horror (2011/FYSISK FORMAT)
HARDCORE/METAL. Black-metal has come a long way since it emanated from Norway’s darkened shores in the late '80s and with just about every other genre blending with the chainsaw elements of hardcore, it was only a matter of time before this harsh metal institution became cross-pollinated too. HAUST's 2nd outing, "powers of horror", is a fearful and frenzied affair, with harshended vocals set against a backdrop powerhouse of hardcore-style axework, heavy duty bass and pummelling drums. It's a fucking glorious cacophony spliced with a sick sense of humour nice! A true horror! Comes with eyecatching gatefold sleeve.

HAWKS AND DOVES
year one (2011/NO IDEA)
EMO-PUNK. Gared O'Donnell had a very crappy year. Essentially, his band (PLANESMISTAKENFORSTARS) broke up and his wife dumped him - so Gared came to Gainesville to record his solo album. While he was there, he was befriended/rescued by Chad Darby. Along the way, George Rebelo (HOT WATER MUSIC) inadvertently got roped into helping write keyboard parts and a wee bit of drumming while he was at it. Other supporting players include the illustrious Jon Gaunt, Matt Raddic,k and Chris Wollard. Colored vinyl includes a digital download card.
